One time about 50 years ago I walked into a gas station to fill up a gallon jug. On my way back to the street to walk to where my truck was, this old guy says, “son, you keep the top full, the bottom will take care of itself”

    Thanks for that, dickhead

Maybe they are hoping prices come down in a few days and they will fill up then. Crazy to see prices jumped almost 30 cents since Tuesday.

All part of the plan to make overpriced alternatives more palatable.

When a candy bar cost 50 cents how do you sell 2 dollar granola bars? .... you raise the price of candy bars to 3 bucks.

With the current events unfolding, today I filled up all my propane bottles and gas cans with non-ethanol for the toys/lawnmower. Expecting prices to skyrocket.

Topped off today. Thanks for the reminder about propane. Have a couple bottles that need to be filled.
Cleaned out the fridge and pantry this morning and restocked. Kinda in a it’s not going to be cheaper than today mode.

No where but up from here. The miserable part is misleading, however. Yes, the distance to happiness is greater, hence the potential. But the miserable die sooner or abruptly.

The contrast gives clarity... to both the lows and the highs. Both are amplified by that clarity.

Back when I started driving in 1978, we would clean out the loose change in the ashtray and it would last us a week..

Does my center console tray count? I always put change in there. Never know when I need to add some air to a tire.

It’s all we have left to squirrel away change anymore. I just keep about 8 quarters in mine for air, Aldi carts, and the occasional vending/claw machine.

I have one of these in a koozie in the front door panel cup holder.
Koozie keeps it from rattling around in the door.
I HATE having change in my pockets.

I give all my change to my wife. I will pull a credit card out for a single pice of bubble gum and not even blink at it. I hate change.

The only place I need change is the couple of places we go that sell used books for 50 cents.

The new Freshco store in GP requires quarters for their carts. Totally took me off guard the first time. Had to use just a basket for that first trip.

Also, used books for 50 cents you say? Gonna need names. The Woman and I love used book stores.

They charge you for the privilege of buying more than two items at their store? Is it to deter theft, and do they give your change back when you return the cart? Just seems like a little tyrannical madness to me.

Shopping carts aren’t cheap, probably worth more than the average theft, so they focus their efforts where it hits them the deepest
