Hello! New member and owner here.
Would anyone be familiar with these symptoms?
    What was the fix?

    Thanks!

Yup, this. We aren’t mind readers, and we don’t have magic wands. Then again, maybe OP does have one of those… :notsure: :D

So, how ‘bout some clues? Speed related, engine load or RPM related, 2wd or 4wd? That sorta thing.

Okay. Thanks. Yeah I wouldn't really know where to begin, so the hum and vibration is noticeable at or around 15mph? 25kph and the faster I drive the louder the hum gets and the more it vibrates with a shorter duration. I did notice all that stopped after 5-10 minutes of driving on the highway at 65mph, 105kph. Got into town drove around oddly enough the hum or vibrations were gone?

Fallowing day the symptoms return and it's noticeable in both 2wd and 4wd.

I was wondering if something needs greased? I am kinda stumped at what it could be and I could do a video, but I am not entirely to sure how I would go about capturing the issue, I'll try forsure in the mean time.

    Thanks!

Alright after a couple of hours repurchasing this topic that it could potentially be a differential problem..

Does it feel like it's coming from the front or the back of the vehicle? Do you feel it in your feet or the steering wheel?

Have you greased the U-joints? Have you drained and refilled the front/rear diff oils and transfer case oils?

You may want to jack up each wheel with the vehicle chocked and secure and spin them by hand to see if you can feel anything. You might have something simple like a stuck caliper or a rock in a weird spot.

I did have that all in mind when I do get the chance to get underneath, but at the moment everything is frozen outside. I am hoping to to see that the u-joits will be grease-able and I'll be checking all the fluids hoping for it to be a simple fix and nothing like new CV shafts, all 4 ball joints, outer tie rod ends, and sway bar links or worse. It doesn't sound like a bearing grinding it's kind of like that wa wa wa sound that others have mentioned on here and other tundra forums.
Reading about these problems with similar issues is making my head spin, but fortunately others who have eventually fixed their 2ng gens vibration and hum complications I can get a general idea what to look for.

    UPDATE!

After reading this forum last night, today when i got the chance to try it out again putting the truck 4 wheel drive. The sound was gone! I guess last time I tried out the 4wd I was in snow and it made some sounds, but the road was clear this time eliminating any contamination to the test. So I guess it has to be a needle bearing in the front differential? Apparently there is an known issue with the needle bearing in the front differential and its common to all Toyota 4WD trucks? Either way this is progress and apparently East Coast Gear Supply has a clamshell bushing kit that eliminates the problem.
I wonder how hard this fix will be?

I think I’m having this same issue. Have you tried the clamshell repair? Any luck?
