So I know have this option on my Tundra, what is everyone using for rear recovery points?

Say I wanted to double back the winch line and anchor to my truck. I don't feel like the safety chain loops, would be strong enough? Maybe they are?

    Thanks in advance!!

Interesting. Curious to see what the Tundristas have to say.

I'm inclined to say no on the safety chain loops. They might be fine for some light pulling but if you are really stuck all I can see is them bending where ever the winch line takes them. If you have a good way to double back to that winch plate I think that would be the best bet (maybe rig up a plate and hook that you can sandwich underneath with the winch bolts?) or if you are in a pinch wrapping around the axle as a solid point would make me feel better.

Just get a double receiver adapter, insert it upside down, winch in primary, shackle drawbar in secondary.
Edit: check etrailer site for Roadmaster dual receiver 2" or 4" drop.
About $150 plus a shackle drawbar.

My idiot friend pulled me from my chain loop - looked like a taco afterwards.

Since you're using the hitch I wouldn't worry about it. Your winch isn't enough to cause a failure in the factory hitch unless (maybe) you're pulling at a really bad angle. I do believe in extra safety and redundant systems but in this case I really don't see the need.
