Thanks! I also found some flex pipe that clamps on for a temp fix until parts get in. Anyone know the O.D. of the cut pipes off-hand? I’ll measure either way. Just trying to dial this in.

Does Valhalla make anything for 4Runners yet?

If not, any recs for a 5th gen limited?

Thanks to everyone for the help.

He does not make anything for the 4Runners. If you look online, there is Talons that makes a 1/4 inch aluminum. I wanted steel so I ordered a full set of CBI's.

I called a few shops around Dallas, they won't do straight pipes.
    They said it was illegal..

Catalytic Converter Laws in Texas (itstillruns.com)

It is illegal in Texas to tamper with properly functioning catalytic converters and other pollution control equipment, says the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality website.
Tampering means removing, disabling or otherwise rendering inoperable the pollution control devices installed on a motor vehicle.

Well, you’re not the one tampering with functioning catalytic converters or pollution control devices. That was done to you without your consent.

The only thing I can think of is to buy and install more readily available aftermarket cats while you wait on the back-ordered OEM cats. Be aware that aftermarket cats may likely throw an engine code - my Magnaflow cats do on occasion - for not being efficient enough. Also, be sure no other damage occurred. On mine, they also cut the fuel line and EVAP purge valve line, the latter of which was also throwing a code.

So while I wait on mine to be shipped, I was wondering how good the plates can be seen from the sides of your truck if you painted them or had them powder coated? Are they real noticeable? I'm trying to decide whether I want to do red paint or just black.

I don't have an answer. From the pics I've seen here, it doesn't seem too noticeable if any, but I don't know for sure.

You do Steel or aluminum? Debating on which way to go.

Yeah, yours looked good. I've been trying to go through all the pages. I think you said it was a little pricey? (If I recall right) Getting mass information overload reading everything.

For the most part they are not seen unless you are under the truck or you are lifted with some big tires. You do see the forward edge inside the wheel well though.

Just a note when I ordered my plates at first I almost wish I order the aluminum because of the weight but I’m glad I ordered the steel just in case some was to try and remove it would crack’m in the head.

    I bought the powder-coated 1/8 steel.
If I was concerned about weight and MPG I wouldn't have bought a 5.7 Tundra.

In my mind, if a methhead lays down to cut your pipes and sees anything that would hinder that, he will move on to an easier vehicle.
The idiots that cut both sides of my pipes only stole one side, left the other side hanging on the rubber hanger.
I guess with the alarm going off, they felt the need to get the fu(k out of there.
My theft happened at noon in an employee parking lot that has well over 2K employees....

Dammit! Now I want my shields NOW! I'm antzy with the truck parked in my driveway. I think the Phoenix area is more organized with the cat thefts. They might even be connected to the Mexican Cartels. A small percentage of the cat thefts in our area are sloppy hack jobs carried out by methheads. The jobs I've seen here, except one, was fast, clean, and efficient well practiced thefts. Truly in and out in under a minute according to grainy video. People suck.

Granted I did park the Tundra on a daily basis on the far end of the employee parking lot, away from others to avoid door dents.
But I guess a barely lifted Tundra was too hard for a thief to resist.

My alarm had two second-stage alerts on my Drone Mobile phone app, one at 12:13 PM and one at 12:15 PM.
1st stage is a loud stereo driving by, 2nd stage is something that literally shakes the vehicle.
Unfortunately, I was already 60 miles away..

I never worried too much about parking in my driveway.
The worst that happens around here is kids pulling door handles looking for unlocked vehicles in the middle of the night.
How hard is it to lock your doors at night and leave nothing that can be seen inside?

I park my rental Tacoma as close to the building entrance as possible at work.
It is much easier to park than the Tundra..:D
Although I did put a hose clamp on the tailgate hinge.
They didn't give me the key to lock the tailgate, they only gave me the door remote since it has a push-button start..

I am packing up plates today, I am back up to 100% with fed ex! I am going to San Antonio tomorrow so I doubt I will get anything shipped tomorrow. Now that the fed ex stuff is fixed, I plan on shipping like a mad man! I have a crap ton of 1/8 powder coated black steel plates on my garage, and more coming

I have the install write-up for my full plate set (engine, front cat and rear cat) in my "build" thread.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/3rdtundras-2017-double-cab-build.92631/#post-2338309

The write-up is in the attachment: https://www.tundras.com/attachments/valhalla-full-plate-set-installation-pdf.616797

I believe this is the most up to date write-up, however, Tyler has changed some of the bolt sizes and possibly the need for spacers.

I just now came back to post this, I managed to find it finally. THANK you, you’re right the bolt/washer details have changed a bit but it was close enough.

Tyler, no offense but your install guide was entirely useless! Zero complaints about the plates though, and the correct washers and nuts on the bolts already assembled in the box was a huge help. I rate the product two thumbs up, five stars, would recommend.:D

I realized after I was packed up and headed inside that I got the overlap wrong on the front skid to mid-engine plate connection but thankfully that will be easy to fix later.

Edit: @Classy63 you should really post 3rdTundra’s install PDF in the original post...

Random, I have got both Valhalla shields on my 2020 SR5 4x4 and installed my Toyota power tailgate lock yesterday, was thinking I should have done this before the plates... Nope, was able to install the kit without loosening either plate! Pretty sweet

Yours will be in the next batch, sorry about the delay.

I really have been meaning to update 3rd’s guide, I need to carve out some time to do it, he did a hell of a good job

No, you can send me a message about upgrading to it once I have the pricing figured out. But as of now, it is being priced.
