Meatier looking tires for Platinum but staying stock ...

All - Any recommendations and/or pic's showing what tires i could go with if i stay stock wheels, suspension w/ no rub points. This is for a 2022 platinum that has the rear height control air suspension and 20 rims. Looking for a nicer meatier slightly bigger look on tires that still can maintain a smooth quiet ride. Does that exist? Looking forward to hearing from all the folks that know way more than this guy.

 

Any of the stock size, P load all terrain tires will look much better and perform well in some weather and offroad. Falken, Nitto, Toyo, BFG are always popular around here. If you are strictly street, you may consider Michelin defenders which perform great and last a long time, but do look tame. Personally I went with Wildpeaks- aggressive look, quiet for an AT tire, smooth on the road and 3 peak rated for mud/snow,rain. Hit up discounttire.com or tirerack and you can easily see all the options, prices, features, etc. You have LOTS of options.

 

Just to clarify...

Are you looking for recommendations of larger tire sizes that will fit the stock suspension, or just tire recommendations for the OEM tire size that look more aggressive? Just curious. I can read your post both ways.

If you want to go larger, I've seen quite a few folks go 295/60/20 easily with no rub on stock suspension. That's about an 1.5" taller and ~1.25" wider of a tire than the stock tires. I put the All Weather Nokian outpost AT tires on my stock 4 runner. They look fantastic, they are quiet too but are a very functional off road tire.

 

You can fit larger tires no problem on a stock truck. 33s easy, 34s depending. But something to know- that usually means moving from P load to E load (just because that is what they make in larger tires that fit our trucks) , so the ride will be stiffer with the higher load rated tires. It is noticeable, so if best/smoothest ride is your goal, larger than stock tires may not be what you want. Just pay attention to the load rating when you are looking at tire replacement. P is passenger, or standard load. Its what the truck came with from factory but they just dont make many tires larger than stock in that load rating. You will probably be seeing E load as most common, there may be a couple brands of tires in the size that you want that will have D or maybe even standard load.

 

I’m very happy with my Revo3 from Bridgestone. They are aggressive without being over the top.

Running 275/60/20, it is a 33" tire.
Nice aggressive tread with a good-looking sidewall.
It is SL rated so it rides smoother than a D or E rated.
I had D rated KO2s and these are much smoother.

I went in to buy Cooper XLTs, but got these instead.

The three words I loathe hearing nowadays… “supply chain issues”. Wishing you a speedy arrival of those babies.

 

You need some bias ply trepadors, I think that will solve your issues.

 

I ran some toyo at2 (non extreme) 275/60/20 on my ecoboost f150 and they are hands down the best halfton tire I have ran. Light weight and quiet. Little to no decrease in performance.

Just check the dry weight.

 

I had a set of Yokohoma Geolandar AT G015 and they were great. More of a stock replacement, but they are also winter rated and drive really nice.

 

BFG KO2’s are my recommendation. Run them on my 2500 and they are great. I’ve been in more mud than I care to admit for work, and they have done fantastic. On road they are quiet and handle well. These or the falken at3’s would be my choice
