    Hey everybody!

I'm fairly new to the community and was wondering if I could get some opinions on whether or not I should get new wheels to go with my Wild Peak A/T3 tires and Bilstein 5100 kit. I'm driving a 2021 SR5 SX.

After consulting a couple local shops, they told me I'd need to replace the stock wheels to prevent rubbing. I wanted to keep the stock wheels but only if there is way to prevent rubbing without trimming. I asked them if spacers would be an option but they said no. I'm also going with the 1.9" lift option for the front 5100's.

So that being said, what recommendations do you all have as far as tire/wheel set up?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The shops are way wrong. Those will fit fine even BEFORE the lift. They are only 1” bigger. You might have to bend up your stock skid plate with a set of pliers.

I had those exact tires on my unlifted and stock 2016. Fit perfect with stock wheels, no trimming, no rub, no problems.wildpeak side.jpg wildpeak.jpg

You need a new shop. They are trying to scare you into buying new wheels. Note: I have that exact size Wildpeak on my truck (I do have aftermarket wheels with a +25 offset) and there was some rubbing because the Falken Wildpeaks ran a tiny bit larger than other tires in the same size. That said, none of the rub I had required trimming. Just removal of the little splash guard on the bottom of the front bumper.

BTW, I also am running them with my lifted coilovers. I did trim the ears off the factory skid plate, just in case. But with 2 inch lift up front, again no rubbing or issues.

Thank you for the response! The shops I called probably just wanted me to spend more money for labor and what not. Bending the skid plates isn't a problem for me.

Looks awesome! I'm more excited to get them installed now. Thanks for the pics to reference the size.

You are probably right! The two places I called were the highest rated for off-road shops too which makes me kind of sad. Oh well - the search for an honest shop continues! Thanks for all the info.

You definitely don’t need new wheels. If a shop is telling you after their installation that a 1” taller, same width tire as stock is going to rub, then I wouldn’t let that shop change your windshield wipers much less install a lift.

100’s of members on this forum have run that tire on stock wheels with and without a lift. All without any issues.
