Go easy on me as I’m no expert:

been looking at upgrading my stock TRD rims and tires and have been measuring clearance, reading these forums, etc. Bought the bullet and think I may have created a problem with rubbing/clearance. Details on my truck:
    -stock 2020 TRD pro.
    - had 285/70/18 nitto ridge grapplers on it with zero issues.

Just upgraded to Method MR316 in an 18” with +18 offset and 295/70/18 (only a half inch bigger than what I had). I’ve got serious rubbing on the front plastic fenders (did some razor trimming) AND it looks like it’s rubbing the body mounts also. Help. Do I need to just replace the new tires with something smaller (or just lift it and get aftermarket bumpers ;))? Didn’t think it would cause this big of an issue.

    appreciate any help.

Definitely do not lift it. That will ruin your ride.

Just get the body mount cut and plated. Super fast/easy process. Then order front bumper spacers from coach builder. Done/easy

Your offset change and tire combo was pretty much a guaranteed rub. If you don't want to do a body/cab mount chop and trimming/removing of fender liners you'd need to downsize to something closer to a 275/70R18 or maybe on a Pro you could squeeze the 285/70R18, but you'd likely need to stay at a +25 or greater offset.

For reference, I am on 275/70R18 +25 offset and I still have rub with a level kit that basically puts my truck on par with a Pro.

So if I went with a 8.5” wheel with a +25 offset and kept the same tires, would that work?

Probably would be better, but if you like your wheels the body mount mod will cost about what you’ll lose selling them/ re purchasing

Thing is, it's impossible to say with 100% certainty. The brand of tire has an impact. Some run large and some run small, so two trucks on the same wheels and suspension can have different results because of different tire brands. There isn't a perfect guide for it, so there's always a risk it may not work as planned.

As for the cab/body mount chop, some have said that they have had issues with inspections calling it out as frame damage. No clue if it's true, as I wasn't interested in getting a chop done, but it might be something you want to research before making your decision.

You would be able to run the 295/70/18 nittos on your stock pro rims if your new rims don’t end up working out. That’s what I have on my truck currently with no run issues.

your problem is thenoffset on your new rims. The maximum you can run on the stock rims is the 295. I’ve seen someone post that they’re running the nittos in 295/75/18 which will give you a little more poke with the tire.

Thanks everyone. After driving a lot of miles today, I’ve fixed the front fender with trimming the plastic liner for now and I’m not hearing or feeling the body mount rub(just seeing it on the mount). May just look at replacement front bumper (already was) and look into bmc. Little nervous about cutting the frame, but I know tons of people have done them

How much would you want for the OE pro wheels?

Gonna get the wheels cleaned up this weekend and take pics to sell. Haven’t done enough research yet on price, but will let you know.
