Okay, so i been through threads here there everywhere. I have a fully stock 21 trd pro. 18” forged bbs. I want to upgrade my tires to some decent all seasons. I want to keep everything stock for the time being.. wheels, mud-flaps. No spacers. Etc.. i dont have the money for it all right now so just rubbers. So my question is, what is my best option for zero rubbing issues?

Stay away from RG’s. My ‘19 Pro came with the and they were shot when I traded the truck at about 28k miles.

Stock Michelins would be your best choice then. They are really good on paved roads and not a full waste on gravel or in show.

I purchased used TRD Pro BBS rims with 900 miles on stock Michelin LTX A/T2 P275/65/R18. I replaced my TRD Offroad rims with Nitto RG's with 21k miles. So far, driving only on pavement, I absolutely love the Michelin's!! RG's were not fun to drive with on wet roads, like driving on ice. Just my 2 cents...

Stock Michelins are great in many ways but really have a non aggressive look on a Pro and after a few months you start to question the way the look on your Pro which is supposed to be more of an aggressive truck to the other Tundra trims (believe me I battle this everyday!)

I’m considering the Nitto Recon Grapplers but currently they only offer a 2957018 and I would prefer 2857018 because that tire size is plenty big and would fill the wheel well just fine and still offer decent mpg while the 2957018s are that much bigger and that much heavier which then affects mpg and potential rubbing issues may arise. I think the 2857018 is the ideal size for me so my battle continues…

I'm personally between going to the BFG KO2's. I had them on my 2017 tundra in stock size and 325/60R20 when i lifted it and had ZERO issues with them. I've got the PRO sequoia now, but brother had them on his 2012 sequoia 4wd and had ZERO issues for 76k until he recently replaced them.
I'm between those and the coopers.
Either would be stock size since i'm not trying to lift or anything this vehicle

Ridge Grapplers are great. We use them on our Jeeps and both our Tundras. You need to make sure they’re rotated at the proper intervals though. Just like any tire. You bought used. These are mine on my 2021. 275/70/18. Removed the front flap just to be sure. Probably didn’t have to though.

What you have to consider is that you have a Pro. If you get tires too big you’re compromising suspension travel and it will rub. I would stick with a 275/65/18 or at the most go with 275/70/18. That will keep it stock or as close to stock as possible. It’ll also help with MPG.

I’m running 285/70/18’s on my 21 Pro. No rubbing issues at all. I stayed with that size. I did not want 295’s because even more power loss and gas mileage. I’m putting my 285’s on my Ray 10’s in the spring.

I'm running 275/70-18 General Grabber A/TX, underinflated (~29 PSI cold), because they didn't balance well and the truck shakes like mad on highway when inflated to 35 PSI :) Same air temperature, same highway, same speed, same everything, MPG drop is 16 to 13.5.

I've got 55,000 miles on my RG's and plan to replace them this fall. At that time I will probably have 60-65,000 miles on them.

My RG are a little slick on the wet roads, but no where near as bad as my BFG's KO2's were on my Tacoma. Don't know if it's the truck, but the RG are very managable in the rain, my KO's were dangerous.

I have 295/70/18 no rub. Didn't have a front mud flap when I bought the truck so that may have rubbed. Here are some pics.

Well the RG’s were brand new when I bought the truck. They were rotated properly every 5K. I’m glad you’ve had good luck with them. I’ll never buy any more. Lots of tires out there that are better, especially at that price.

I'm a fan of KO2's also, but recently drove in freezing weather after it rained. The tires let me know where the black ice was. Simply poking along in a straight line and all of a sudden truck would get squirrley. Serious pucker factor. Never had that happen with prior KO2's. I know ice is ice and its called black ice for a reason but the slippage seemed excessive for the conditions.

I'm considering the new one put out by bfg, trail terrain or something. Or going with the Cooper discoverer for thr sequoia once tread is done. Was reviewing both today. Coopers have #1 spot in reviews on tire rack and was #2 on Forbes or something. I've heard good about them, just no experience. I got time tho to decide

Do you get any slippage with the Michelin LTX A/T2 in the rain? I'm debating back and forth between the Michelins and the Falken Wildpeak ATW3. I know the Falkens are amazing in the snow, but they area heavy.

Michelins are probably the best performer in the rain of all the AT tires. The non-aggressive look of those tires (especially on a Pro) is another story…

None. I've had two, 2.5 gen Tundras now. On the 2015 I replaced the stock Michelins with some sort of Toyo and it slipped like crazy, loud AF, and I lost MPG. I've kept the stock Michelins on my 19 Pro and never had an issue other than they pick up and kick rocks like crazy. I only do mild offroading, tho.

Edit: I live in Oregon, in the Willamette Valley. We know a thing or two about rain here.

I'm looking at going larger. I have Firestone x/t, I ran comparisons against the popular choices. I'm getting them again. And I like the current ones a lot.

I have to concur w/the couple of other folks on the stock Michelins AT2s. I've had 2 Tundras since 2008; an 08 SR5 and now a 2021 PRO. On the 2008, I tried the OE Bridgestones and a couple of others similar to the AT2s, and for a mildly aggressive tire, the Michelins outperformed the others especially on pavement and in the rain. I moved to the central Oregon Coast about 3 years ago, so a crap ton of rain, and I've only had the AT2s on both my 08 and my 2021 PRO, and they have been flawless in the rain. As others have said they are not the most aggressive looking tire, but unless you're off roading a fair amount in conditions that exceed the AT2s abilities it's really a great overall tire.

That's awesome. Thank you for the feedback. While I know you don't get a ton of snow in the PNW, do they equally do as well in the snow?

My thoughts are around if it makes sense to pickup <500 mile takeoffs from people for cheap and then just store them until I need a new set.
