Hey whats happenin? Im new on the forum & appreciate the acceptance. I got a bunch of questions coming up. Im am about to install a Trd supercharger in my 2007 Sr5 Crew max. Suspension is a must. Suggestions or experience welcome. Also I was thinkin jba Long tube headers since they are the closet to the oem symmetry to attach to my dual in dual out mag flow exhaust. Any advice for transmiision gearing as well?

    Not much chillaxin...

Supercharger with unichip piggy back. Load the super charger config alittle ( fine tunning on dnyo) . Run the trd headers not jba I have them in my Tacoma they are ok. Trd exhaust or borla or corsa to hide the s/c. Get rid of the silencer. If you want to go wild let me know.

Transmission you need to know final gearing in the transmission.

I wonder if he were to run 4.88 if that would help? Are you keeping the stock tire size, OP?

Sean he will need to change his final gear in the transmission too. If he wants to kick it up a notch you have to regear all gears and boost hydraulic pressure.

Welcome! I have always wanted a sleeper truck. Get laughed at when you think you can hang with their Honda Civic with large pointless rear spoiler and ground affects. Then the tree drops to green and you launch way ahead for the win. Wouldn't need a supercharger against a civic but you get my point.

SC'ing is expensive. SC, install kit, programmer, pulley, intake, headers, O2 sensor delete, exhaust, transmission gearing, differential gearing, brakes and dyno time.
Could also do intercooler, injectors, Pistons, Rods, Valves, Springs, Performance Camshaft, machining, rings, gaskets ........

Cant wait to see your build up though.

Welcome. It sounds like an awesome plan. By they way, since the announcement of discontinuation of the supercharger program, the inventory seems to going quickly. Get one soon if you are planning to supercharge.

This is another 510 HP option. Have seen good and not so good reviews, mostly quite good: http://www.supercarsshow.com/2014/0...charged-upgrade-by-hennessey-performance.html

    The HPE500 Supercharged Upgrade Includes:
    • TVS Supercharger System
    • High Flow Air Filter
    • Fuel Injector Upgrade
    • Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust
    • HPE Engine Management Calibration
    • Chassis Dyno Tuning & Road Testing
    • All Necessary Gaskets & Fluids
    • Exterior Hennessey Badging
    • "Supercharged" Door Badges
    • Serial Numbered Dash & Engine Plaques
    • Professional Installation
    • Hennessey Premium Floormats
    • 3 Year / 36,000 Mile Limited Warranty

Whipple is the go to guy to for SCr's. Maybe he will come up with a Tundra SC sometime soon now that Toyota is done with the TRD SC (depends on demand as usual) : http://whipplesuperchargers.com/

If you go by numbers (years) on the life cycle on powerplants the 5.7 (3uz-fe) is at end of life. Its 11 year old powerplant.

I have a feeling this is the last year or next to last year for the 5.7. Its outdated to toyota standards by the production. I believe if toyota is watching this board they will shot me as whats in the tacoma (Subaru engine design) will end up in the tundra unless they keep using the same casting they are now with a diiferent top end.

Toyota is always super tight lipped on what they are going to do to the point of ridiculousness. The 5.7L has had a good life, strong engine and all, well built, but fuel economy may be it's downfall in it's current configuration. Definitely a good sleeper truck motor, just kind of expensive to SC and tune it. Will be interesting to see if Hennessey will drop their pricing to attract more Tundra owners. Would be nice if Toyota could keep the aluminum block like you said and maybe do a redo on up. Nothing rarely leaks out of Toyota R&D. Always a guessing game.
