There's at least one payload thread in this section of the forum. @Mattedfred may also remember where that post is if he has a better memory than I do.

380 under the imaginary number on the website that no real life truck has ever met in the real world but 150 lbs or so above what his door sticker says.

Degrees matter. Differing slightly is fine, but not overstating by 35% (1400 vs 1880).

my question is how you plan on carrying that 14 ft boat on top of the tundra without adding rails (extra weight) in the bed for support.
    its a lot higher than a 4runner.

He could carry it on roof, either with a roof rack or foam blocks - I always carried my 17ft canoe on the roof. Thule racks are quite light really

    ok
not happening its too high and not enough roof length - but go ahead.
put it on and then you have a top front air dam to go with the new bottom air dam.
should be interesting. take a video.
this is the only way. but then previous gens are higher too.

Wasn’t thinking of an aluminum row boat - I thought he had a canoe.

I think the guy got rear ended by the black truck and the boat ended up on his roof. One in a million shot.

I checked with the local dealership and got the following information:

    * They have a Limited CrewMax 5.5ft bed and it states a payload of 1390lb on the door sticker
    * They have a double cab 6.5ft bed (not sure the exact trim) with a door sticker that states 1490lb payload capacity.

They were themselves surprised (did not seem to know that) and promised they would inquire with Toyota Canada about the discrepancy between the door sticker numbers and advertised numbers. Not that I expect much to come of this. But it was very clear that they were equally surprised about this large deviation from any of the advertised numbers. I know the salesman and he would not lie about this. Most honest car salesman I have ever encountered. (Perhaps not the most knowledgeable either...;-)

found the forum thread on it.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/not-the-best-way-to-haul-a-boat-ha.28001/

the first front shot looked like a small 18 foot runabout. thats a 20 foot older bayliner.
I owned one like that and it had a Force L engine in it.
This is more like 3500 lbs.
impressive - what was that you guys were saying about payload door jam sticker numbers....8^0

    @bc_matt
so can you answer a question?
is the "14 ft boat" you want to mount to the roof a canoe or an aluminum fishing boat

Its actually a 12ft aluminum boat (Lund) and weights 205lb. The boatloader is also accounted for, weight wise, as is the outboard motor. In any case its in total very close to 1400 pounds and I would not be able to get anyone else to join other than the wife, dog, and myself. A 1880 pound payload capacity would have made all the difference for me.

I don't think I have accused nor hinted at anyone being a liar, please do not put words in others' mouth (though I guess you just misread my comment on that guy beyond honest). What rubs me the wrong way, however, is when someone is alleging that the actual payload should be higher than what is reflected on the door sticker. That could be true but may not be true at all. A link to a thread where someone actually did get on a scale showed that his crewmax has a payload capacity of around 1550lb which is in line with his GVWR and setup. And why suggest a 3/4, should the Tundra not be compared to a similar F-150? Most XLTs come with a payload capacity of around 2100lb, advertised and matching with the door sticker, and the actual payload capacity. I do like Toyota and have a 2021 4Runner TRD Offroad. I want to make it work and I thanked you for the links above that point to guys that actually tow stuff and carry stuff with their Tundra.

I showed my gratitude and thanked you for it. What I do not find helpful is when someone states that the door sticker is not really relevant and that it does not matter when this is everything that matters, to the police, in any legal dispute, and for safe driving.

This “Canadian prices” thread sure turned fast to the payload thread.

Does anyone know whether the 2022 SR5 Crewmax TRD Offroad 5.5ft bed comes with the larger fuel tank and 389hp engine?

Has anyone in Canada managed to get below the MSRP? Or any love on accessories with purchase? I hate the idea of not feeling like I got a deal....

BTW, my date is pushed back a month and now April/May (ordered Dec 22).

I eventually ordered the 2022 SR5 Crewmax TRD Offroad 5.5ft box and ETA at the dealership right now is middle of May. I did not even have to put down a deposit, probably because they are not afraid to sell it should the deal go south. I figured that whether they have my deposit or not if they were dishonest they could make up whatever excuse and sell it to someone they can squeeze a bigger profit from.

Are you trading something in? If so, you're most likely going to get the best trade in value of your life. So at least there's that...

    Can confirm.

Not a chance. The buggers wouldn't even throw in the sub-$300 bed mat even after I told them I was buying the 84mo/200,000km warranty. I called a couple dealers in Alberta and they were all the same.

Agree, my dealer offered me almost 1000 dollars more (Canadian) for my trade in compared to the price I paid 2 years ago for my then brand new 4runner. There was virtually zero going back and forth which tells me that I might have gotten away with even more had I aimed for a higher value.
