This is just 1 shops opinion. They only install ID or FIC injectors. Because they utilize Bosch cores and supposedly DW uses whatever cores they have. Not sure how much truth there is there.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    to belabor the injector issue..

honest question...how could they be "inconsistent"?

they are semi-simple squirty things that squirt a maximum amount of juice.

    the holes don't change size.

could the open/close mechanism be funky?

I heard the crawler crowd uses bigger injectors on their n/a motors - do they see this issue?

Not griping....just wondering what would cause inconsistency

Another reason the inconsistency claim is odd is that I thought injectors are usually sold as a flow matched set, as in they gather injectors that were all flow tested and were measured to be very close in flow and sell them as a set.

Unless the claim is that DW does a poor job of flow matching?

I remember seeing that video years back and thinking, man that would be bad ass to be able to switch tunes like that.

I don't think the factory ECU has enough memory to store multiple tunes but I could be wrong.

I believe I've read that the 2016+ ECUs have more memory. I don't know if it's enough for multiple tunes though...:stirthepot:;)

The only thing I’ve seen is VFtuner does allow map switching using the tow/haul button. You give up the tow/haul tune functionality though. You could use it to switch between different octane tunes, or performance vs economy etc. It’s not an option for me however since I use tow/haul to tow my camper around.

The DW set I received had actual flow data for each injector on a card that came with them. The tuner used that data in the tune.

Finally swapped back to my TRD dual exhaust I had in the garage. As others have mentioned, it sounds so good with the supercharger. Not only is the tone noticeably more aggressive than before the blower, but it compliments the blower whine perfectly unlike the louder exhaust I had before that would make it harder to hear. All I want to do is drive this truck around now between the power and amazing sounds that it makes!

What pulley do you have? I’m on 85mm pulley and completely stock exhaust and can barely hear the blower whine. I need to make it louder somehow.

I have the 80mm pulley, which did make it a little louder. Mine is also not that loud, but I definitely hear it as soon as I start getting into the throttle a little bit. There is a company called FostersSCmods that makes a kit that can make the whine sound a lot louder. No idea how it works. I’ll include a link to their website, I don’t know of anyone using it on a tundra. Reading up on their website basically indicated the reason the blower is so quiet is because of advancements in technology, and basically it’s more efficient than blowers of the past so the pulsations associated with the whine are reduced. This is a whole other rabbit hole to go down lol. https://www.fosterscmods.com/pages/cold-air-intake-kits

There kits look like you run a hose from the intake into your cabin to pipe sound in. Kind of jank in my opinion

If that’s all it is, that’s pretty dumb! I guess if you care that much about sound it’s an option, but I’d be worried that would mess with the airflow reading somehow.

It seems like all twin screws are louder. Do hellcat engines use twin screws?

    Added money to it.
Does anyone periodically get the boost cut indication on their gauge? It’s something I’ve noticed a few times when I get on it on the highway?

Yea, I'm not sure what it means and I suspect it's a programmable variable but I've never looked into it. I think its tied to AFR and more for turbo setups, since iirc the gauge can control a boost controller or something. I've had it come on at 5psi or some random higher number so it doesn't seem to be strictly boost psi related, so not sure what exactly triggers it.

Are we taking about the Innovate boost/AFR gauge? Do you have any issues with it? I’m looking to order that or something similar.

Unrelated…This weekend I definitely surprised the hell out of what must have been a fairly modified RCLB Ford 6.7 PSD. Wish I knew what all he had done, he did hang pretty good but not good enough. I’m thinking he went home and googled the specs on the tundra 5.7 in confusion.
