Nice! I maybe got an extra 45min. on and off after I woke. Nothing a little extra coffee wont cure.

 

I never liked coffee till I had kids. It’s like a switch was flipped and all of a sudden it was good! Still can’t drink it black but I feel like I’m getting closer and closer.

 

The switch from nights to a morning schedule today. Was up until 2-ish, and woke at 7 with a bit of alarm snoozing for 30 minutes. 5 hours is normally enough to function, but I just want to hibernate.

 

I got a solid 8 last night. Feel great, but the day is young

 

I couldn't drag my ass out of bed at 6 this morning after my wife wanted to chat until 11. Guess I'll have to shovel on my lunch break.

 

The first time I made the switch, my boss was aware of two methods for swinging back to days from nights:

1. Go to bed right after your last night shift and sleep until, say, around noon ish or whenever you naturally wake up. Then go to bed when you get sleepy in the evening, say around 7 or 8, depending on how long you've been on nights. - Recommended method
2. Method her husband always tries: Plan to stay up all day after your shift and go to sleep early in the evening. End up falling asleep on the couch around noon and be unable to sleep that night after you woke up early in the evening. - Not recommended

 

You didn't go to bed until 2 this morning since you got off work Wednesday morning?

As a shift worker myself, I recommend #1
My usual schedule coming off nights, get home at 0700, crash by 0730 and sleep till 1130. That puts me back on track and I'm ready for bed around 2100.

Ha. No. Too old for that. Got home Wednesday morning, crashed hard until noon, and couldn't sleep until 2 that night.

 

Dang. Very nice. Think the forum is paying you too much. I’m gonna call HR in the morning.

Interesting. I actually stopped following that thread b/c of some of his posts. Chit was too dark/serious for me. Hope he recovers from his situation.

I’m up. Got a customer call soon, so gotta get up early.

 

Up early, will get to work early, but I am leaving early! Gotta run to the butcher to pick up half a cow. Wont have to buy meat for a while!

 

I wish we could do that. Well, let me rephrase that…I wish the head chef was interested in doing that. We did portions a few times with friends years ago. The meat quality was unreliable and there was just too much “stew” meat.

It was great opening the freezer and seeing all the butcher paper packages

 

She wasn’t thrilled about it to begin with but sold her on it because it’s more organic than what you get at the store. I got mostly hamburger and roast since that’s what the kiddos eat but definitely have some steaks coming too. Got it through a good friend at work that has used this butcher before so should be good. I’ll take a pic when it’s all loaded up this afternoon.

 

After getting up before my alarm all week, I slept in till 630 on my first day off.

 

Got skunked fishing, but it was a good day with my buddy. Feeling a nap coming on.
