According to the FAQ, "you can control the compressor (eliminate the supplied switch) by using the single Purple wire that would have normally went to their switch and connect it to any of our outputs to use the sPOD system to control it."

@thedonn why did you not use the auxbeam? I've been considering going that route for my set up.

my blackvue just came in - if it is hardwired for park mode can it still be turned off? I may use a switch for that

You can program it on built in timer...not sure what the minimum is offhand. Mine is set at 6hrs...I probably need to cut that back since mine sits in my driveway most of the time. Note...I just checked with them 6hrs is the minimum but it still has the cutoff if your battery gets too low. You can also disable park mode completely.

Once the unit is hardwired in how easy is it to turn park mode on and off? the hand motion required to mute the unit is hit or miss so i am kind of assuming it may not be easy. I am thinking if i wire it to a switch it would be very easy to activate the camera (along w park mode). also the low voltage cutoff would make me feel better about leaving it on.

also I hate to blow you up with blackvue questions but the way the manual is written I cant figure this out.....can i get videos from the camera to the app / downloaded with WIFI? i bought an LTE module because the card removal is too much of a pain but Im thinking WIFI might do the same thing?

To be honest I am still figuring it out...files can be downloaded to the phone or cloud but that has to be done manually. Turning park mode on and off is not easy. I think you have to reset up everything.. 6 hours is the lowest setting and it will shut off if battery drops too low...this is a great feature. I have the LTE module too...I think you can connect it to wifi while parked at your house for instance but have not tried that to see if it will upload to the cloud manually that way. I have been inundating blackbox my car with questions and they have been pretty good with answers .. the one thing I haven't figured out is how people can use that LTE module as a hot spot while in my truck.

Blue Seas battery switch for me. Before I wheel I flip it to ON and turn the wireless remote function on the winch pack ON. This way if I’m in a wonky situation I won’t need to pop the hood until we’re done wheeling.

Im guessing this is a power interupt so if its off no or less fire risk etc...keep off until needed?

That is 100% why I did my Blue Seas switch. Fire risk completely eliminated when not in use.

Just ordered parts to do something similar, only using the BlueSea ML-RBS switch so I can remotely enable it from in the cab or manually override it under the hood. Also ordered parts for using a circuit breaker instead of fused power lead for my SP-9100 and for installing a separate fused distribution for some smaller items that aren’t running through the SP (like the front camera and under hood lights).

thanks for the inspiration in this thread

    Working on it!
I bought a pre-fab fuse block bracket kit (link) to neaten up and start some kind under hood organization, e.g., will be adding ARB compressor in the future along with some other stuff. My question is their installation video uses the existing battery ground-to-frame bolt for a bracket arm and platform ground...they recommend taking a wire drill brush to knock off the paint around the bolt for "better ground." I'm hesitant opening up a potential corrosion point by doing it. Anyone else see it differently?

do you have a link for the circuit breaker and fused distribution? its coming slow but Im starting to understand lol. I think the Blue Sea switch you mentioned will be perfect

    Sure thing.

I'm drawing some inspiration from the PowerTrays setup:
    Switch-Pros PowerTray > Standoff – PowerTrays
Switch-Pro Accessory Bundle > Tacoma TRD Off Road/ 4Runner/ FJ Cruiser – PowerTrays

Except I'm sure I can do it for less than the total cost of their setup, and because I like to tinker (and they don't make one specific to the Tundra).

My plan is to use a Rago Air Compressor mount that sits over the fuse box (I didn't pay that much for mine).

The SP9100 will go in the SDHQ mount (getting free from a friend that went a different route)

150A bus bar (I plan to use for common ground points)
Amazon.com: Blue Sea Systems 150 Amp Common BusBar with 10 screws and a cover, 2300 : Industrial & Scientific

100A (total, 25A/circuit) mini-blade fuse terminal for random small items (front camera, under-hood light, not sure what else yet)
Amazon.com: Bussmann BP/FP-ATM-06ID 6 Pole Automotive ATM Fuse Panel with LED Indicators and Clear Cover, 1 Pack : Automotive

This is the switch I just ordered:
    Amazon.com : Solenoid ML 12V RBS : Boating Battery Switches : Sports & Outdoors

And some low profile mini add-a-circuit taps (for my SP9100 triggers)
Amazon.com: BioFuse 12V Low Profile Mini ATT QUICK TAP KIT: 2 Add-A-Circuit Car Fuse Tap Adapters, 2 each (10A 20A) LP-Mini Blade Fuses, 4 Zip Ties + Fuse Puller : Automotive

Bussman 120A circuit breaker for the SP9100 instead of the inline fuse it comes with
    Amazon.com: Bussmann CB285-120 Surface-Mount Circuit Breakers, 120 Amps (1 per pack) : Automotive

Bussman 100A circuit breaker for the fuse terminal
    Amazon.com: Bussmann CB285-100 Surface-Mount Circuit Breakers, 100 Amps (1 per pack) : Automotive

The fuse terminal I have doesn't incorporate grounds in it (which also makes it much smaller than the Blue Sea ones).

I'm still looking at options for a terminal strip (I'd like to have it covered, though it's not really necessary). And the Rago Air Comp plate requires removal of some screws to access the main fuse box, so I need to lay things out to still give access to those screws. I'd really like to get the winch control box mounted onto that same plate too, but we'll see. I'm gathering parts first, and then I'll start playing with layouts.
