Anyone else have this issue with their headliner? (See picture)
It's a 2021 TRD PRO with less than 8k miles.. getting entire headliner replaced now under warranty. 281D08F7-7F30-4390-B27A-4E53C0FBC5BA.jpg

Looks like it was poorly cut for the upper console.

no, I haven’t seen this. Did that become visible after purchase or was it always like that and you missed it?

My 18 is like this, not quite that bad but still. I don’t think the headliner needs to be replaced but rather moved forward a bit. They have some movement and I think an adjustment will fix my issue.

I think it may have always been like this but I missed it. The service advisor said they've had same issues with the land cruiser but not as commonly with the tundra. They went ahead and ordered an entirely new headliner and they're replacing the whole thing.

You may be able to loosen the console and move it to the rear enough to cover the seam.

Too late. Haha. Toyota probably has the headliner removed already.

21 here and mine was the same, just took it out and put it back and it covered it better than from factory. Seemed like it just wasn't lined up

correct, I took it down and just repositioned it and it pushed the headliner up towards the roof the 1/8" it was off. Take it down and put it back up in place and see if that works. That's all I did

Wish I would have tried to self adjust. The new headliner they put in look way worse in the back now.. but the rear window. And my passenger side seatbelt isn't retracting as it should.

needless to say, they're ordering another new headliner and going to try this again.

That sucks. That is my concern with taking it to the dealer. I don't have a lot of faith in my dealer.

I have a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro and my headliner is coming unglued at the rear window and is just sagging there. Took it to local dealer which had to determine it wasn’t my fault it was coming down?! It’s been three months and I’m still waiting for the replacement OEM headliner. They are telling me the usual supply chain issues. Meanwhile, the headliner keeps coming down

My 2020 has a fracture from the factory where the headliner meets the windshield right behind my sun visor. Dealer said they’d replace it under warranty, I’m concerned that they’ll just make it worse, so I’m sitting on the fence like an idiot.

Mine, 2021 SR5, doesn't connect or tuck into anything at the rear glass. Just sort of comes to an end, looks a little unfinished. But it seems secure, doesn't sag that I notice.

When I put in my Meso map lights I had to take that whole upper console off and when I put it back on it looked like that. So I loosened it up a bit and the key is to use a piece of paper and push it under the edge to keep the fabric tucked and then when you have pressure on the upper console slide the paper out and it somehow keeps it tucked. Then keep pressure with one hand and tighten with the other and viola....unsightly seam gone.

This is what makes me fearful of putting on my LED third brake light. It's been sitting in my garage for months. You have to pop the rear seat belt panels and then lower the headliner a bit. I'm afraid it's going to make this seam look so much worse. I've read some people have no problem with it going back the same way and others not so much...

Yeah, I'm not sure what keeps it up; seems the cloth part is stuck to a more rigid "frame" underneath but that underneath, maybe molded part, doesn't seem to be secured to anything along the entirety of the back glass.

I would be taking that in for a fix or replacement. That is not how it is supposed to be.

There's some type of plastic underneath and there are four plastic pins that are glued to the liner that push into the frame. Those are what you pop out to get to the bolts for the 3rd brake light.

Hello... 2021 SR5 with the same issue where the headliner meets the windshield pillars.

I’m also having issues with my windshield. It’s been replaced already but the replacement windshield had the same distortion on the whole right side as the original. Now waiting on third windshield replacement and new headliner. Also had door edgings all come off that had to be replaced too. I wonder if they rushed assembled the last year of the V8 truck ? Just seems the Toyota attention to detail is kinda lacking with my new truck

Anyone have a picture of what it's supposed to look like where the headliner meets the back glass?

Same issue with my 21 limited
Took mine to dealer. They ordered another it was worse. Put old one back in. New one one came in it failed badly. At dealer again they tried again failed again they’re putting in the 2nd failed POS until they can get another headliner.
This headliner issue has been a train wreck. From hell. Needless to say this will be my last toyota purchase. I never took pictures of the original headliner. Mine looked just like the original post.

Looks normal. Asked about that on a 2014 Tundra back in 2013, as I thought it was a design error for the refresh ... turns out they are all like that.

Still seems a bit unfished to me, but nobody ever did notice it (besides me)

    Too many mods to come
There’s I think 4 push clips that hold the headliner to the roof by the rear glass. These should pop in place and hold it up. The end of the headliner is essentially unfinished and curves up into the corner there. The headliner has some level of movement and adjustment.

Our headliner has pulled away from the windshield on both the driver and passenger sides. 2020. Warranty has expired and the dealership is quoting up to $3k to repair. Extremely frustrating.

A locally owned upholstery shop who has been in business a long time with good reviews is who you need to find. They will fix you up!
