Need some help diagnosing a noise I've had for a few months. At speed it sounds like a metallic chirp, we know it’s coming from the front right wheel on my 2012 Tundra. 2WD so to me it can only be the backing plate, brake components, or a bearing. When going slow it sounds like something is catching and rubbing but when you speed up it’s a chirp since the wheel is rotating at a faster speed. The noise is killing me, I have to time with the YouTube video so I am just about to run to a dealership and have them brake it down to find the noise. I don’t want to waste money knowing someone on here might know my solution. Thanks again guys

If you are 2wd, you nailed it down.

Brakes, backing plate, bearings, something foreign stuck in there somewhere....

Not much else it could be really.

One idea I have is a stick-on wheel weight installed so it just rubs the caliper. Probably not though, after a few months that would likely either be gone, or “self-clearanced”.

Any new tires / tire rotate / rebalance done when it started?

New wheels yes but ive has the same noise for months. It has to have been a year since I first discovered this sound, even changed the carrier bearing and u-joints. Just the other night my buddy driving next to me was able to isolate the noise to the front right. Said it was louder when braking. I have no jack that can safely lift this truck to work on it since it’s lifted pretty high and on 35’s. That’s why I really haven’t taken the time to diagnose this. Not only that but I haven’t torn apart the brakes on this truck either.

I’ve had this noise for a year unchanged, not worse not any better i also can’t take off the wheel to check it out since I don’t have a jack for this truck that I feel safe with.

Yea that's a long time for a sound.

Tough to now without seeing/hearing it in person.

I know the jack feeling, I just had to buy a new jack at Harbor Freight ($150ish)
Thought I was being slick buying the second heaviest, but slightly less lifting floor jack.

Weighs a ton anyway, and at max lift after front suspension droops a while I can barely get my tires back on.
Next time I'll just add a block of wood to the jack plate like I used to do with my old 2ton compact jack lol.

On the way home there was a new clue in the issue, after a year the day I decided to post about it the truck started clicking from the front right wheel while braking. Any idea what it might be? It’s relatively loud but I do not see the issue. Pads look okay although I know the rotors are on their way out.
