So I did my 20 K maintenance yesterday. Are used Ravenol oil in the front and rear differentials transfer case. Pretty easy maintenance to do overall, I was surprised the transfer case just had pipe thread plugs instead of three thread plugs with crush washers.

I do not like that plug. I think it would be real easy to drive that thing in to far. I now mark my depth before taking out and try and hit that going back in.
Something about being able to torque to a spec that makes me warm and fuzzy.

I was surprised at how loose the transfer case plugs were. Mine came off easily and I’ve read the same thing from other people on here too. They seemed to only be hand tight.

Mine were also very loose, did not tighten them too much.

I would have also liked the crush washer way with straight threads.
