I'm trying to determine if I can fit a used topper from an access cab truck onto my regular cab truck. Bed lengths and dimensions are the same.

Does anyone know if the cab angle is different? If so; by how much and in which direction?

Probably not super relevant to the question but both are long bed trucks, and by long bed I mean a real 8 foot long bed not the modern "soccer dad" 6' long bed.

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on what "Fit" means to you for one?

Here is a 2nd gen top on the 2.5 gen truck and the cabs are the same angle and I am pretty sure that the angles are the same between the versions but not 100%
They are different lengths though for sure between long beds from 2 to 2.5 gen but it might not matter depending on the top.

Depends on how the rear doors work too and I like the french doors which are a lot ore flexible in how they fit the beds length in general.

I also am not that concerned with the cab angle in a DCU top because I care more about the utility than the looks and we are all different like that, some more different than others!

Also Welcome and thats the worst name I think I have ever seen?!

    I like it!

So are you saying the red topper came off of a 4 door truck? Looks to be a good match at the cab.

The trucks are the same year for what it's worth, not mixing generations.

The cap I am getting is off of a 2010 access cab long bed, I am putting it on a 2010 regular cab long bed, assuming it fits.

So they changed the tailgate in 2014 and thats the 2.5 so if you get one for a 2.5 it might be too long thats all I was saying.

And I will tell you that no matter what anyone says there is nothing that I trust but my own measurements and a trial fitting.

This has little to do though with the angle thing, some care and others do not about the angles matching between the cab and cap.

    Got the fiberglass leer topper.

To confirm, the cab angle is slightly different on a 2010 regular cab vs. a 2010 access cab. It fits but is a smidge tighter against the cab at the top of the window vs. at the bottom. Topper does not contact the cab, but it is close, within ¼".

I think we would all appreciate a picture if you're able!

Always wondered if the apparent extra curve to the DC cab was an optical illusion. One of the things I like best about the design.. and of course they got rid of it for 2022
