I don’t see why not. Whenever mine comes in I can ask the sales rep if you want. Might be a week or so. What model ARE do you have?

Cap owners that camp in theirs….I’m going back and forth on a Leer 100XR cab height or Leer 180 mid-rise.

I really like the thought of only one twist handle lock that can be locked with my key fob…especially when sleeping inside at night (Leer 100XR). I’ve read many “can’t go back to a double T-handle” after having a single.

However, I’ve seen a lot that wish they had a bit more headroom when sleeping. Unfortunately, not sure if they stopped manufacturing the 180XR but my dealer stated that the Leer 180 only offers the double T-handles.

Lastly, I’d only sleep in it occasionally during the summer but would have the “convenience” of the remote lock year round. For whatever reason, SnugTop and A.R.E. are so much more expensive up here in Alaska. Would appreciate some insight. Thanks!

Extra headroom of the 180 is worth it if you plan on sleeping back there, at the expense of it looking ugly. I had cab height toppers on a 1993 T100 and 2018 Tacoma, now have a Century High-C (identical to the 180) on my Tundra DC. Wouldn’t go back.

I actually prefer the 2 t-handles over the center one. I broke and replaced 2 center t-handle mechanisms on the 90s Jason topper on my T100 and the center handle Leer on my Dad’s 2010 tundra feels flimsy to me. The 2 handles on my ARE on the Tacoma felt solid so just went with them again on my current topper. Never cared to spend the money or take the time to install a powered lock on any of them so can’t comment there.

Also get the carpeted headliner. Not getting fiberglass splinters in my arms or scalp anymore when I’m crawling around back there is great.

Quality wise, they’re all about the same and somewhat disappointing for the prices they all charge these days. Get what is cheapest and has the features you’re looking for. The 1990’s Jason on my T100 was actually about the best quality. 20+ years out in the sun and hailstorms of the Midwest and the thing never leaked or cracked.

My thought process was the more room the better and I could care less what it looked like. Some don't like what I have but I love it and have tons of headroom. Has locks that work with the key fob. It was about the same price as a fiberglass top and can be modified easier IMO. LEER has commercial aluminum tops, may be worth checking out. An yeah I would imagine there are a lot of things up there that are more expensive. What a great place to live though!

Is that the 26” to 30” version?
Care to post a pic of the inside?

I had a 29” radius model DCU on my old tundra and thought it was the best thing ever. Stuck with an ARE MX on my ‘21 double cab for now, looking at all the better roomy options.
The one thing I can’t get used to now is having a tailgate to deal with. I had the double door, no tailgate version of the DCU and loved it.

It's the 26" to 32". I went with the traditional rear cuz I wanted to keep the tailgate. It's pretty roomy. Here's the best pic I have of the current inside.

Your truck looks rad with the wedge! I ordered a 26”-32” for my regular cab long bed and wasn’t sure if it was going to look too tall or not, but I wanted the extra headroom for a camping buildout. After seeing your truck I’m stoked! It’s the perfect height and look. Mine should be delivered another week or two. I went with full doors in the rear, a tool box on the driver side and a windoor on the passenger side. Seeing your truck has gotten me excited all over again.

Here’s mine, sort of...... It’s an A.R.E.. It’s a really nice cap that came with the truck when I bought it. I added some Rhino Rack crossbars and built out a bed platform. But I wanted more headroom so I sold it and ordered a new A.R.E. DCU wedge topper like Wallygator put on his truck. Should be here in a couple weeks. Was looking for “function before fashion”

Not really, but to be honest I have not checked yet. I can notice that if I really push it above 75mph, it feels like mileage will suffer more cuz it seems I need to have the pedal down farther, if that makes any sense. But it's like that anyway with this tank. :D. I drive in tow/haul and S mode pretty much every time I drive it so there is that. The topper dealer said the top probably weighs around 350 lbs, but now I am carrying my camping gear all the time. I have a trip coming up and will post the mileage here if I remember.

If you’re sleeping on a mattress, inflatable or otherwise you won’t notice the extra ceiling height. None are high enough to stand or even crouch in. I’m 6’2” and have plenty of headroom sitting up straight, getting dressed and such. Sleep like a baby on a self inflating exped duo that fits perfectly between the wheel wells. I sleep in mine 10 or so nights a year. Have to drive it most of the 365. I care what it looks like. Love my 100XQ. 100XR with sliding windoors was my second choice.

That may be with those that sleep under their cap. I don't, just got a second truck so I have 2 topper to deal with, one with single twist and one with double. I prefer the double. Have had to replace two latches on the single twist one already and adjust a couple of times.

If anyone comes across a cap; ARE ,leer, or snug too for a 07-13 crew max please let me know. I’m in the Deep South but I’m willing to travel to a degree for one. If it’s paint matched I’ll go even further, 1d6 silver sky metallic.

Big caps for the win! I love having the cargo space of this big cap, but sometimes I wish I had the model that's level with the top of the truck so I can garage park it. Also, I think the leveled cap looks better with a lift!
