Man, that sounds kinda weird. Is that even legal? I'd tell them you just wanted the check then. Make the trip faster yourself I would think?

did you get a dollar from them at least? I live that trick, I also live in upstate NY where the panhandling had reached insane levels. It's endless entertainment.

Qt sucks. We've always had a good convenience store selection in our area until just recently. Circle k came through and fucked everything up.

Dude it's unreal. Sometimes it's a cash only business because the credit card machine never works. The pumps never ever work they're always shut down all eight of them. Then they don't make sandwiches anymore. Doesn't seem very convenient to me. Yeah that would drive me insane. When I drove it was basically just get the windshield I ever cared about

    Some.
Perfectly legal. Legally, they don't even have to put the check in the mail until payday. Its just a PITA to not know when I'll be paid. Thankfully it is a second income and my primary is on time 99% of the time.

The sad thing is that the company would actually SAVE money by using a service that did actual direct deposit. I can't believe how ignorant some managers are!

16 years in the one job, got a zoom call one morning with HR and told they were cutting me due to "business orientated costing ", no thanks for your efforts, my email was cut immediately, no leaving do, no chance to say good bye to everyone.
Eventually got in touch with all my good mates I'd trained up there and they couldn't believe it.
Senseless management decisions all based on costs, making one person do three others jobs. What happens when you can't fire any more people? The mangers themselves get fired of course. Fuck cost based management and Corporate life, what a waste of time.
    End of rant!:smash:

Well, I hope things work out in your favor quickly. I'm sorry they were douche bags in the way they chose to give you the are. Rather cowardly in my opinion.

No worries, thanks, it really is a blessing in disguise I guess, made me look more into what life is about rather than living for the next promotion in a toxic environment.

I was let go back in March 2020. Hated my client, had zero support, overworked, constant stress, no time to do anything but work. I was there six years. Took eight months off to find the right company (declined multiple offers as it didn’t feel right). Been with this company now for over a year. I have not one complaint. They treat me very well, and like a damn human with plenty of support if needed. Hang on, buddy. You’ll find the right fit where you’re respected, and treated like family.

Cost as a sole basis for management decisions is idiotic. That leads to companies firing people who have earned raises through performance and trust. They wind up firing everyone that can do the job and have nobody left that knows how, so everything goes to shit.

I'm sorry to hear this. When the Rona apocalypse started I lost a very well paying ($27 plus a hour) job driving a municipal garbage truck. Most money I've ever made, they layed me off due to losing a 2 million dollar contract and my seniority being too low someone else got my cushy job and I got the door and the opportunity to work "part time".
I now work in the aerospace industry and would never look back. Swing up, and keep moving man. Alot of crazy good jobs out there. At least in my area with no applicants still.

    This guy,
Pulled up to a self serve car wash, guy pulled in behind me so I was locked in waiting for this guy to "dry" his car after the wash.
who spends an extra 15 bucks on an air dryer jet to dry their car after a wash?

How is your car wash laid out? I've never seen one where one car could block another unless someone just blatantly parked in the middle or something.

But, yes, that guy is the kind of special that rides the short bus. The only drying I do is around my door sills and that's on my driveway with a towel after I drive home from the car wash.

yeah its drive in and out the other side, so the next person queues up behind you blocks you from getting out.

People on this board bitching and moaning about the fuel mileage of their truck?

It’s a big heavy brick driving down the road and is not designed for fuel efficiency.
