Honestly I can’t say. The skid plate feels pretty beefy to me but it is aluminium. People complained about it not having a way to change the oil without removing it but it’s so easy to install (I installed mine in my driveway by myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) that I’m not really worried about that. TBH I don’t see myself doing anything super hard core off road so it’s more about protecting for the rare instance where I tag a rock or something on the freeway or whatever. There’s also the “cool” factor of having TRD on it which I like. I’m pretty happy with it and not worried about having something stronger.

How does it fit with the auto air dam? Or does it not fit with it..?

 

Got front door window tinted. Xpel HP 20%.

Added tailgate insert and removed dealer decal.

 

Self wrapped the rear bumper panels. I plan to do the rest of the chrome in time. As a first timer some of the parts like the tail gate latch seem like they will be pretty hard to do well.

 

I just tried to do those and failed
I don't know how to do the corners lol

 

I would say I didn’t do a professional job, but the creases I did end up with were in locations you couldn’t see.

 

That's what I was trying to do but it kept ending up in most obvious spot, right on top or side lol

 

Installed the TRD running boards today. Easy mod with a huge quality of life difference.

 

Can never go wrong with a Silver truck! Nice

 

Got llumar ceramic tint all around including visor and pano sun roof for $426 at Glaciers in Arlington TX.

TRD skid plate was much easier to install compared to the last gen

blacked out steering wheel Toyota emblem.

 

This may be a bit of an over kill but for 20 bukaroos.. It’s worth a shot in which I’m pleased with.

 

Looks like that screen protector limits fingerprints too, nice. Also cheap insurance.

Is this an almost perfect fit? Any issues trying to align it with the screen? I see it on Amazon for about $20...

 

Added a couple bike mounts to the bed rail.

Fit was snug and i think it looks pretty cool. 70mph hwy test ride, and they were snug.

$70 and easy install if anyone was interested.

Just painted part of the mustache and the middle trim of the grill. Still trying to decide if I want the full grill surround. I think the satin chrome surround adds a bit width to the truck.

 

That looks good. I was thinking of doing a gloss black wrap on my Hulk Hogan mustache. But what you did looks really good.

 

I was about to post that you should have done the reverse, but I’ll be damned if this isn’t growing on me.

 

How did you paint the lower grille part? I was told paint wouldn’t work on the bumpy plastic. Looks great by the way.

 

That middle piece was already a black painted plastic. It does not matter though if you use a primer.

I sanded it, applied a primer, then the color coat, and then the clear coat. To be honest, the lower side pieces are the ones that really need a primer.

I used touchup direct spray kit that included the primer, color and clears costs. The color was an exact match.

That is the first thing I would do if I bought a new Tundra. Second would be the rest of the bumper.

 

I thought about painting that lower diffuser portion as well. I may end up doing it. It is a separate piece that comes out.
