does anyone have a legitimate reason why a few years ago, EVERYONE started hating Nickelback?

 

I don't know why, I like them.

I asked my daughter the same question. She said because they suck

 

They're just trendy. No real commitment as a band.

Radio overplayed the hell out of them. Same thing happened to Hootie and the Blowfish in the 90’s.

 

Somehow they made it into my pandora shuffle the other day and I didn’t mind it.

 

i was talking with someone a while back and they said it's cuz they were sell outs or something like that. i listened to them back in the day and even bought a couple albums. but yea, anyone you ask now just says something along the lines of JMB's daughter of "they suck!". No real reason. kinda think it started as a trend and got to the point of when someone would ask, people didn't want to seem like the one that liked a "shit" band and would deny liking them. i never had anything against them. some of their songs sucked as most bands have a few fails within multiple albums.
being that chad kroeger married avril lavigne, i had a lil envy since i had slight hots for her at one point in my youth

If I were a chauvinist I'd say "Of course you don't know. You're a woman", but I'm not. I just think the jokes are funny. I would only say this to women in my family because they'd punch me for it, and then laugh. Only sharing it on the impression that you'd know it's a gag and get a giggle.

Instead I'll say: The only reason nirvana is even remembered or "successful" is because cobain decided to install a skylight in his skull just as they were starting to gain notice on a larger scale. They didn't have time to show how utterly, truly bad grunge was. The entire genre is as dead as their singer, and it was the best thing he ever did for music. It gave us Dave Grohl as a front man, and he's 10 times what the heroin fueled skylight installer was ever going to be. If Dave lost a friend, I'm sad for that, but music didn't lose anything when that ticket got punched.

Album came out at the beginning of my freshman year in college. I didn't like all of it but I did like some of it. I don't hate it, but it's never something I ask Alexa to play.

i'm a tossup, because dave grohl came out of that and really blossomed. not sure it would have happened with him in the back as their drummer. and i don't care what people say, i like foo fighters, dave grohl, and consider him to be damn talented!
