That "validation" may also require "butt play" so @Outbound - you can get it all taken care of at once.

It sounds nice enough with the tube pre; but if I played my guitar enough for it to be worth adding equipment I'd have a Bassman as well. I have a friend with one, and man it makes that Texas pickup sound like a glass of Blanton's.

This kind of attitude is frowned upon in the US.

Agreed! For the house and for the size of it, it sounds great. It’s hard to beat my Gibson Les Paul coupled with that Marshall.

I like a Gibson on a Marshall more than a Fender - even mine. Slash comes to mind... I got my son an SG when he was a teen, and his always sounded much better than mine on the Marshall. He liked that Line6 shit, but it's kids stuff and he was a kid. I've toyed with the idea of swapping my Strat for either a Les Paul or a Tele - just never had the itch enough to pull the trigger. Back to that 'if I played more'...

My son put a garage band together with a friend right after I got him that SG, and they got invited to a garage band showcase at The Loft in Dallas about a year later. They tore the living shit out of that place with their own songs. 250 kids in a rage jumping and screaming at them. Cool moment for a dad, for sure.

Yeah I played a lot more when I was younger than I do now. Was in a couple of different bands in high school but never made it to the level that your son did. That is awesome! For me it’s always and still is a stress reliever. I play probably 2-3 times a week for at least a half an hour. Hopefully can either teach my kids or get back into it more the older they get. Here is my little collection.

I tried to play over the years..
Never got the hang of it, just a bunch of picking.

Bought several guitars to influence my son to play in his youth, he is now 30.
He played violin and tenor sax in high school.

He is self-taught on guitar and still plays, bought himself a few guitars and amps since then..

This was probably over 17 years ago.
He still has that Schecter I bought him back then.
That was back in his A7X days..

    00022-1_76ab5f80ae34dcfae2cf6794263398daf010ca1d.jpg

My BIL plays in a band locally.
He's been playing drums the last year, but he is going back to guitar this year.

They are the Velvet Kings and play locally around DFW.
Mostly Hang Time in Rowlett, Lonestar in Dallas, the River Club in Sunnyvale, and a few places in Plano.
You can follow them on FB and maybe catch a gig.

This is just one corner of his music room.
He has my old Line 6 Spider II 112 in there somewhere..

    ffr9hyea_4ec29ebe4b5e3f2307a966b8522e9cea6cc18547.jpg

He had a great old country band called Runaway Twang when I first met my wife in 2006.
I wish he would get back into playing that stuff..

I have zero musical aptitude. Played a couple different instruments in school, including the guitar, but forgot it all. I am just musically retarded.
