This is one way to get Toyota to put official info out there on number of affected vehicles and production dates.

If you have turbo issues or other drivability issues (wind noise, gaskets missing, etc.) report your concerns here:

Mine was confirmed today to be the turbo…needs replacement and parts on back order. They said they are supposed to have an ETA on Monday. Was at like 606 miles…put in another post cause I am a dummy and hadn't realized it was this issue…but will update here. Bad day…Sucks.

should I be concerned with how they repair? They said it is a new OEM unit that solves the issue…but honestly not sure that guy new much.

Sorry to hear about your turbo issue, the 2022 Tundra is such a great truck in my book. I've got 550 miles on my SR5 and hope I'll be ok?, I wonder if the more miles you have and no problems, the chance of not having an issue increases. Keep us informed on how the repair goes.

    Possibly.

Most Japanese companies won't fire you for a screwup like this. But they will put you in a room without a doorknob so you can't do any more damage. The next step is yours...

Any evidence Toyota is actively contacting buyers of affected trucks? or are they just waiting till the part(s) fails and then replacing them at failure?

Any evidence this problem was limited to early builds only?

Any evidence this is limited to a so called “bad batch” ( singular) of bad turbos?

I said this in another thread.

For everyone affected, Toyota should do 2 things:

    1. Extend the engine warranty.

    2. Any affected customers that paid ADM, Toyota should work with the dealership to have the ADM returned.

What about the people that paid ADM and didn't have an issue? This is akin to forgiving student loans.

Same as "why not extend everyone's warranty?"

This may not be a turbo issue. All the pics I've seen have a "reduced engine" error.

Maybe it's just a plain old beater? ;-) But seriously, I'm sure it will work out fine in the long run.

Right because they stuff a port injected, iron block, push rod engine in literally everything they build including sedans. FCA has not innovated the driveline side of things in a long time except for the Jeep 4Xe.

Their driveline R&D budget is probably $20 a year and can afford the carbon credits.

I had been thinking about it, we’ll see if it is useful and can remain “clean” as just a list.

Make a google drive spreadsheet and only make it viewable. Then as new claims come up they can be added and documented.
