AJT steering wheel trim

    I ordered some AJT stuff steering wheel covers and door handle covers in black. For some reason I thought the steering wheel covers where overlays lol but a quick YouTube video and I installed them in like 30 minutes thought I would share some pictures for someone else . Its was really easy btw. Door handle Covers just simply slide over make sure to wipe down with alcohol so 3M tape will stick .

    1-Disconnect Negative from battery
    2- Loosing T30 Screws on sides of steering wheel they will not come out all the way
    3- Remove air bag sit on top of steering wheel do not disconnect
    4- Remove 2 Phillips screws holding down controls
    5- Remove 3 Phillips screws holding down circuit board and remove from buttons set aside
    6- Remove buttons from old trim and install into new
    7- Reverse process check all buttons work and DONE20220208_164519.jpg

    Nice write up. I did mine a few months ago. Really happy with how it turned out and it was pretty easy. All the AJT black out products were pretty easy to install. I wish they would make an overlay for the side panel on the doors.

    I'm also waiting to see if they make some overlays for the door trim and also the trim around the radio hopefully they do soon lol. But i did see that Amazon does have them available already but I'm not sure about the quality so I'm holding off for now

    I recently did the Tacoma steering wheel swap. Got a 2020 Tacoma leather steering wheel off Ebay for around $145. The awesome part was that it was a complete steering wheel, came with the controls and the plastic on the Tacoma are a dark grey. Matches the dark grey trim pieces the Tundra brings. I was going to paint them but it was a win-win for me. Killed 2 birds with one stone.

    I was just thinking about that if the tacoma steering wheel would fit cause I just saw one for sale with the leather. I might have to change the steering wheel next it looks way better then what I have thanks for letting me know. And yea you came off with that deal

    I found some bright red door trim overlays on eBay but that would look horrendous. Other than that haven’t seen any for the doors. I did end up doing the dash overlay with a carbon fiber. I may swap it out with a black down the road. Still don’t know how I feel about it. Some other guys have found the black on Amazon but it’s always on back order.

    Hard to tell from the pic, but the the plastic trim piece on the steering wheel is darker.

    Yeah I can see that. Not as silvery as the stock tundra version
