Hey this is not my truck - just found it on YouTube and decided to share since a platinum in WCP seems to be unobtainium. I have a WCP and a blueprint on order (haven't decide which one until I see them, and they both come in black seating and black headliners.

I saw your edit after I watched it again. I had to do a double-take to be sure that I thought it was still black.

I’m still struggling to nail down exactly what I want. I thought I wanted a Limited or 1794 w/ TRD OR package, but I’m trying to determine if I really need it’s features. I love the darker features of the Platinum and 4WD is probably sufficient. I also like the power running boards and bedstep as well and think I could probably get those after market - in time.

Color is also a dilemma as I like the red, blueprint, MGM, silver and WCP. Need to see them in person, but probably going to wait for the ‘23s to come out, so I’ve got a year to figure it out.

Post when you get one. You’ll love either.

Hey, I see you list “WNC” on your profile. Western NC? Where abouts?

Congrats folks on your new gen truck purchases. I love the new tundra. Just out of my price range honestly. Maybe a used one in 5 years or so. Some gorgeous trucks in this thread

That is a beautiful area. Going down 23 to ATL is a much better drive than in from 85.

thanks. usb to the right of climate control. i'm going to get a usb angle adapter. wire is run clean underneath, then under door seal and up a-pillar then across headliner. super easy. no wires exposed.

or way back when when a person picked up a jeep wrangler and the front wheel arches were different on both sides of the vehicles. passenger side had the new 2012 arches and the drivers side had 2011 arches.

that 1st pic is the reason we hated our predator steps for winter.

im in between the predator and the regular running boards at the moment also. the predator does look good but I'd imagine a lot of slippage when not paying attention. and it wouldn't be the start of a good ride when the wife or kids start of the trip scraping their legs so im leaning towards the regular boards

if you live in a northern tier state that gets months of below freezing weather, i would go with the oem dual steps (not ideal) or the trd boards (ouch at $995) as the trd boards hug the body better than the dual steps. i would prefer the classic running boards like we have on 2018 where there is no gap between the boards and body.

this is a big issue for us in ND since we have to deal with snow/ice/slush for about 4-6 months of the year and 4 of those are usually below freezing full time.

oh and tundra sits outside all year round, it doesnt fit in our garage.

I was able to test drive one with the trd steps. The foothold area is small, like where the steps meet at the body it’s tucked in and if u hav boots on you can just get the ball of your foot on them. I need steps because I have small people that ride in truck and it’s a project getting my mother into my jeep. I ordered the predator steps because they look like a lower reach to step onto. If the don’t work I may go aftermarket power. Sucks that I could not get them on limited from factory

Exactly the reason I didn’t get the TRD boards (cost and practicality due to small area).

I got the Predators as an interim as I NEEDED something for a 4 and 6 year old.

…then my son scraped his leg the first week so I can’t wait until the RB20 styled boards comes out from Go Rhino.

Yes, agree with you on that, it's annoying to see that crap build up on the steps. But I'm more concerned about the gap the between the main rail and body. It's pretty small and I can see sand from the roads at my cabin in MI getting stuck in there and effectively sanding the paint off. I bought the predator steps and had the dealer install them before delivery, but I still have the original running boards and thinking about putting those back on the truck for this reason.

Fox Toyota in Cadillac. Ian Foster was my salesman, good dude. He did the whole deal for me via text msg/email, and delivered the truck to me in Chicago where I signed the paperwork. Zero time spent in the dealership, except to go back to retrieve the tie downs I forgot to remove from behind the seats in my trade-in Tacoma.
