Man, I just love Bead Maker! Couple of coats of Griots 3 in 1 topped with Bead Maker after a wash, bliss.

Washed this weekend with the foam cannon. It's kinda funny when using the soap with a thicker foam and it still has trouble sticking to the paint because of the coating. Washed then applied some Hydro2 to it.
It's also kinda funny that when my wife had to take my vehicle to work yesterday, she said she went close the door and almost fell cuz it was so damn slick. "I don't know what the hell you put on it, but I almost busted my ass cuz I wasn't expecting it to be that slick!" :D:yes::rofl:

thnx man. wife said after the baby and she goes back to work, she wants to trade. i told her as politely as i could, that she could kiss my ass. haha. the ride seems just barely smoother than her van. guessing because of the upgraded suspension and more sidewall to the tires to absorb the bumps. she said she could see herself driving one in the future.

I didn't touch the ram since I got it and kinda purposely left it a mess, then last weekend I got bored and decided to wash and vacuum it just so it's not filthy when I return it, whenever that will be.

Been a cold winter so I've been taking a break from the business. As such, I've been testing the limits of my skills. Here is a sedan rear passenger door (unsure what make/model it comes from) that has severe defects. Been practicing a combination of hard/soft KxK Designs Palm Blox wetsanding and 3" machine wetsanding. I'm getting comfortable with hand sanding...machine sanding is an ENTIRELY different animal. I can see the allure of machine sanding once you get the hand of it...but hell if I didn't misplace the sanding sheet one time and ended up installing some nice hook-n-loop marks all over the door. Good thing is this is a throw away from a local body shop. Once I'm done with it, I'll toss it back in the pile for scrap and pickup a replacement!

Some findings for those who might find it as interesting as myself: working this section from 800 to 1200 to 1500 to 2000 to 2500 to 3000 then a compound and polishing, mil ratings went from 4.488 at start to 4.138 after sanding to a final of 4.016 after compounding/polishing. A substantial change, however the diminishing clear between grits was insanely lower than what I thought they would be. This isn't perfect and I have loads of room for improvement, but as you can see from the midsection it is INSANELY altered after the process. Could be better, but this is what scrap panels are for. I'm used to spot checking severe defects and leveling off large panels. I want to get to the level in my quality of work where I can sand down an entire vehicle. One day

    PS Ignore the oreos...brain food.

I don’t know how to reference a post, but cKatz53’s idea of using salvage doors for learning on is brilliant. Apologies if someone else came up with it first, but I’m going to a salvage yard soon. Houston is full of them.

Using Autofiber Saver Applicator's (this is the key), I can get two full size sedans paintwork, trim, headlight, taillights, wheel faces.

The blue Chevy 2500 we did early December took a full 30ml bottle by itself due to A) the size B) lots of black plastic (soaks product up) C) tonneau cover was coated as well.

It's a very cost-effective coating from a business standpoint at $80/bottle for 30ml or $150/bottle for 60ml. I'm on a wholesale program where I can get 10 30ml bottles for $60/per which is awesome. Just placed an order for a wholesale package actually...I just finished booking April and the beginning of May. We are on a 3 month+ wait list right now for coatings only lol. Only doing one a week but we are rocking and rolling.

Reason I'm rambling is 90% of these bookings are from word of mouth referrals and single clients booking multiple vehicles after seeing Undrdog in action. I've had more people call/text me afterwards saying they had no idea how good coatings were until they took the chance with me and Undrdog Pro. Again, I've got no affiliation to the company personally or financially. It's just damn good. On the flip side, I've received jobs after using other coatings, but not nearly to this degree.

The owner of that Trackhawk has his F250, Escalade, and his mechanic's Dodge 2500 booked for April already.

    Screenshot_20220206-184947_Textra.jpg

Texts/calls like this are a common occurrence a bit after coating folks' cars with UD. Older convo but I just spoke to him on the phone last week where he was talking about the coating again lol.

Thoughts, suggestions? Picked up a cheap Amazon gimbal for the GoPro and figured I'd give it a go at a "cinematic" video versus my usual time lapse. Movement is clunky at points (still learning how to operate a gimbal correctly) and the videography could get way better but, it's a start. Edit: not sure why the thumbnail isn't the youtube selected image and it's blank here, but it works elsewhere. Also we missed 90% of the beginning wash process. It was 27 degrees outside and we were freezing our balls off so decided to kick it into high gear so we could get inside lol.
