That’s deal breaker level stuff for me, I can’t stand stuff like that , Hopefully they fix it for all the early adopters and then change the design

kinda weak it made it out into production when it’s clearly a design problem lots of people are seeing

Talked to the dealer (in Canada) about it today – they will take care of it by replacing the seal with a new one. We can also wait to see is a TSB is issued. I'm thinking of waiting for a bit.

This 2022 is a brand new redesigned truck. I know there is going to be issues. I have owned 10 Toyota’s since 2008 and Toyota has always stepped up with any issue. My dealer is awesome. I asked if this info can be forwarded to the Engineering Team and I would wait for a better solution than taking the door apart to replace it with a same seal. I was hoping the Engineering Team would examine the issue and maybe do an Engineering Change to the seal.

What I do find interesting is how New Model problems are dealt with:

Toyota Dealer: My dealer said the only way to inform Toyota is through a warranty claim and replace the seal. No channel to Toyota Engineering. I guess when Toyota receives enough warranty claims Engineering will do something.

YouTube Guy: Call Mike Sweers after you drive home from the dealership and have a team of Engineers show up in the middle of nowhere in 3 days to fix your door lock.

Please note - I like my 2022 Tundra – just want to get the teething issues fixed. Yes, I would buy it again.

BTW – The truck whistles so nicely we are naming it Opie. Now I’m showing my age.

I haven’t noticed the wind noise in mine..... but now I probably will if it’s there. When I get off work I’ll be listening in that specific spot and I’ll report back. Guess I need to buy some tape as well

My 2022 has the noise coming from the same location. I’m sure there will be a TSB issued at some point. The noise isn’t terrible, however, and it’s easy to live with until fixed. Thanks for tracking down the source of the issue!

Not a 3rd gen but a comparison. 2019 Pro has a resonation/buzzing in extreme cross winds. Its super loud. My 21 Limited 4 runner has no noise at all in any condition.

They changed the seals on both my driver and passenger sides and the wind noise is still absolutely awful. I have a case number with my dealer, and someone is going to work on this issue until it's resolved. I'll let you guys know if they ever figure out what the hell is happening.

Please let us know. I’ve been listening to mine and I can’t tell if I’m being over critical or not, but it’s there. Idk if it’s the transition from the quiet windshield to the road noise from the doors or what.

Something isn't sealing properly. If I push up on that seal in the corner like someone mentioned earlier in this post, the noise goes away. I tried to wait for a TSB, but I'm at a breaking point and it's driving me nuts.

Man I have this same issue in my driver side and I was going to take it in to replace the seals but it sounds like that is not the problem.

usually hear it after about 40mph but it doesn’t bother me too much.

Once I go over 45ish it just whistles and blows from both sides.

The "window rail" (seal) was replaced last week on my truck. BIG difference. On the phone it made a noticeable difference as the microphone is about 12" away and the wind noise would be loud enough before that the person on the other end would ask me to repeat what I said or speak up when at highway speeds.

All good now. There is minimal road noise yet I would expect it to be at this level.

For those still with issues, tape up the back corner of the window and confirm that is the source.

I have this same exact issue. I thought it was coming from the front corner of the door/window closest to the outside mirror side. Where are most people isolating the issue. at the front corner or close to the door handle (facing from the outside)

    Thanks

on my driver Side rear window, I noticed the rubber end of the window piece won't stay in place. I know over time, through weathering, its only going to become more undone. I wish I woulda saw it before leaving the dealership. I dont know if I can get any type of glue or anything to keep it in place without making it stick to the window also

I test drove one about a month ago with this exact issue.
Picked my tuck up this weekend from dealer and was looking for this issue and I don’t have it. Cabin is quite. Build date 1/7.

I would definitely take it in and get the seal replaced Toyota must know that some of the seals are messed up.

Can I get a part # on what they replaced. I'm going to attach what they changed on mine that did absolutely nothing.

This is definitely not true. When my AC was discovered to be not working, the manager called Toyota right then. They worked out a plan on the phone to have a Master Mechanic diagnose the issue and they would evaluate from there. My truck's issue was diagnosed Friday and the engineer team was on site Tuesday in TN!

.....granted, this didn't help expedite the repair though, lol. Almost two weeks later it still sits in the service center.

My driver side doesn’t do it, but I rode in the passenger seat for the first time and it does it. It’s terrible, how I never heard it before idk.

I had both gaskets / window seals / whatever changed in the driver and passenger sides and it's still just awful. If toyota doesnt have a fix for this soon I may just give up and sell the thing. It's that unbearable.

I understand. It’s right in my ear on the passenger side. I couldn’t do it if it was on the driver side. It’s like being in an old convertible

It's bonkers man, I didn't buy a 55k truck to have it beat my ear drums to death over 50 mph.

I looked at two SR5 Tundras on the lot at a nearby dealer yesterday and both had what looked like poorly fitting window seals in the upper corners of both front windows. I didn’t test drive them, but now I’m going to be looking for the noise when I test drive mine. That would be a show-stopper for me for sure.

Someone mentioned the seals being damaged as the window tint is installed. I wonder if that is accurate. I’m mentioning it at my 5k service. I don’t notice it as much with the radio on but it bugs the hell outta me when it’s off.

Yea the seals look all crumpled and out of sorts. Check, Check, and re-check before you decide to purchase.
