What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Where did you get that piece around the shifter where the letters are? There are alot of us that have been looking fore something to get rid of that sun glaring gloss black.

Installed the MESO lights, they are way too bright for my liking so I added a dimmer switch in the dash to tone them down to the setting I want. Only small issue is you have to have them set to the brightest setting in order to change colors from red to white. If you have them dimmed they will not change. No biggie for me.
Also installed the Tacoma leather steering wheel that I found off a wrecked 2018 for $100.

 

Nice! You could sell those in a heartbeat.

 

For anyone considering...Bought a full coverage crewmax rear Husky mat from Amazon this morning for $75. Mobile 1 syn. 5W-30 5 qt $27, seems decent too.

 

If I didn’t already have a day job & a 2.5 year old I would!

 

Or you could secretly sell me one haha. I could get the wrap, It's the lettering that I need. I don't know anyone locally that could make them.

I was able to do one diode fog light on the driver side this morning before coming into work. Try getting the other one done tomorrow.

the lights are the pro fog. Very good be pattern

 

Sounds good. Mine are the pro fogs also. I tested it against the stock one. It will be a big difference. Plan on doing a light bar eventually.

Thanks! When you order, look at the dimmer that they offer, I added that and when headlights are on they come on at adjustable level…

 

Tell me what kind of dimmer knobs I need to be looking at. Also, how'd you wire yours in to control all the lights together?

Take the overhead console down, run wire up the A pillar, modify dash bezel to fit the dimmer. In overhead console, just after the factory plug in, splice the black into the black wire, Snip the red wire in console in half, the red wire on dimmer will tie into the red wire coming from the battery, the white wire on dimmer will go to the red wire feeding the LED's. Don' forget to solder and heat shrink all connections.

 

Sorry for the delayed response - I've been away from my laptop for a couple of days. Here's a pic of mine installed. The hook is just barely usable on the top. I just didn't want to remove any part of the bed liner:

 

Just a nitpicky detail, if you installed the resistor inline, you are reducing voltage, not current. The voltage is the important part to control in this case, though. From the behavior you described, those LED's are not made to be dimmable, which is why you get very little effect before the decreasing voltage just doesn't power them anymore.

 

Put up my softopper, been a minute since I had it on. I'm still very satisfied with this purchase.
