A placeholder for anyone that applies a new software update and can share the experience / changes / etc.

Also given I am a soon to be Toyota Tundra owner, How doe software updates on tundra (2022) happen?
    A) you have to take it into dealer to be applied?
    B) Toyota pushes updates out over wireless or cellular networks at preset scheduled times (like not while you are driving)?
    C) The old school way where you go to settings, select updates then install (like an iPad) :). Doubt this is it.

    Anyone know?

There is a section in the infotainment screen for updates of some Kind. Mine says no updates. Does anyone know when these were supposed to take place? Seems there so much they could improve on.

I checked mine yesterday, I was told that in February expect an update. It should be the first one but no exact timeline.

Not a Tundra but our Prius has a recall that requires going to a dealer for an update. We have gotten the notice 3x & have gone once but the wait was over an hour just to take the car into the tech and I was busy and seeing as the car is used literally 20 miles a month and is running fine I'm in no rush.

If you go to settings, software update, and click where it says "model info" my screen had a pop up saying update available. I clicked it and it started a multimedia update and now "HU" and "VD" are installing whatever that is.

I have had my 1794 for 2 weeks and was really having troubles with my infotainment system. I searched around and sound out about upgrades. I found my new vehicle had one available and I installed it. Miraculously my problems vanished.

The way that I did my update was to connect to my home wifi. Then there is a way like someone posted above that you click a button in your setting menu that says software update. If there is an update available and your connected to wifi you'll see it and then click accept and a few more clicks later and it downloads the files and updates for you.

I choose the connecting to home wifi method as it was easier for me but i understand you can also do this by downloading a file to a thumb drive.

Anyone know when the next '22 Tundra software update is coming? New features? I'm disappointed that I can't see the song/radio information while on Android Auto and it's showing the map - the other side of the screen is simply the time or phone (if I'm on it). I'm hoping they improve split screen capability and fix the quirky bugs it has.

I can't stand the iPhone. Pixel 7 Pro or OnePlus 9 Pro Android, solid phones. From what I can tell, it's issues across the board, iPhone or Android, doesn't matter. I just took delivery of my 2023 Tundra 1794 and am working through some of them now. Some of the issues almost look like a threading issue where the infotainment system is struggling with the multiple threads coming through, but just a first hypothesis.

It doesn't help that the first thing the dealer did was put 3 different apps on my phone, all talking to the Tundra. I'd be confused too. Don't like the "service" needed to auto-start my vehicle. That's a crock. I don't need a fkn hot spot IN my vehicle provided by ATT who I would NEVER use, my phone does this better. At least let me choose who's SIM to put in the vehicle's modem (working on figuring a way around that or just dump it all together). The phone's today are far superior to anything you can put in your vehicle so said vehicles should just connect to the phone and let it manage the software. It might be that Android Auto or CarPlay should just get removed, I feel like these are shotty applications. No fixes yet, just observations.

New update applied this morning. Don't see much cosmetic changes. Took about 10 min over the air. Restart the truck and every thing works.
