My PaPa was a Navy Chef and cooked for Roosevelt and Truman on a few different occasions.
He had a book of recipes that I’ve borrowed from but it will not become mine until my Mother passes it down.
There’s some pretty special meals in that book.

Just wait it's coming. We had rain all day yesterday and today it has been ice and sleet. I was just outside and we now have 7 or 8" of sleet/ sleet snow mix.

 

Should make driving around tomorrow morning sort of iffy.......

 

For sure. This morning the roads were completely ice. Needless to say I didn't pass a single car.

I was a Texas boy, so for baseball, I was all about Big Tex. I got to see him pitch in Houston when I was very young, and again in Arlington a few times. I suppose that's where I developed an affinity for the underdog - the Ranger's sucked hind tit, even with some great players, all through the 80's and 90's.



For all you young whippersnappers, Big Tex is Nolan Ryan.
