I agree. So the plan is to dip the 'mustache', see how I feel about it. Then I'll debate if I want to dip the grill, cuz you are correct, it will suck to remove all that.

 

I think it looks good the way it is, it matches up nice. The plasti-dip is flat looking and won't match, but that's just my opinion.

 

I hate chrome, but I think the grill is ok. Agree with you, I'd have to do the mustache. And I would dip the emblem. Great looking truck!

 

On the topic of paint, probably going to wrap the grill surround looking for white and am curious how close it would be to the paint code for super white.

 

I’m new to the Toyota brand so sorry for the noob question - does Toyota sell pre-painted body panels and trim? As in could I buy a colour-matched moustache direct from their parts counter or would it come as bare plastic and then have to try to get it paint matched. Asking because blueprint might be a bit of a challenge to match.

 

What a beautiful truck! I’ve been debating the black but was put off by the comments here stating it will look dirty the minute after you wash it. Hell, if it looks this good for a minute then I’m sold!

 

There was a Blueprint Tundra down at the dealership when I went by today. I thought a few people had asked about how blueprint looked.

picked up my loaded platinum (adv package, power boards, spray in liner, tailgate badging). 3 miles on the odo just how i like it. it is freakin incredible coming from my base trim supercharged 08 i've had since new. feature overload and i love it.

Amazing how small the 2022 looks in this photo.

 

I think that is mostly due to the lift kit.

 

what package gets you the interior led lighting?

That ambient light is sweet! I am looking forward to being feature overloaded as well!! After seeing your Platinum I really like the trim. I was all in on the 1794 because I really like the Saddle Brown interior with wood look but your black interior with the blue ambient lighting looks good too! I like the tires and wheel package on the platinum better too. Any other interior color options besides black available?

 

My 2022 TRD Sport premium was just delivered! Going to be picking it up Saturday. Pic sent by my salesman.

Was expected to arrive 2/9-2/14, but came early.

Build date 1/7/22 arrived at dealer today. I pick it up Saturday!!!!

 

The sport is the absolute best “looking” trim.
But when I placed my order dealer told me they could only get it in short bed which was a dealbreaker for me. Idk if that has changed since October. But the satin chrome with the pearl white in limited I actually like a lot in person.
Still wish it was color matched.

 

I would not plastidip anything on a nice, new, expensive truck.

 

looks really close to my 4th gen 4Runner, Nautical Blue Metallic. Nice color, shines great in sun with the flake and other times it looks almost black.

 

Damn that's badass. Getting the same color. How are you liking that silver? Looks darker than the previous versions. Mine is suppose to land today at the port and 2/7 at the dealership fingers crossed.

 

yeah for sure, the 08 does have a fox stage 4 lift on 33's and sits at 4/2. when i get inside the 22 it feels bigger than it looks...do not say 'that's what she....' lol.

platinum only comes in black. i personally don't like the saddle color and scared of maintaining light color interior in a truck. i already don't wear jeans in my lexus rcf because the blue will transfer to the alcantara. black leather is great imo for a truck. also the platinum doesnt come with the chrome the 1794 does.

really like it. silver and black to me is always a great combo. just looks mean and doesnt show every spec of dirt.

congrats. the wait was killing me but i waited 14yrs for a new one so it was really hard towards the last week. like affecting my ability to focus. lol.

 

Ordered in September. Delayed five times. Finally home, keeping the ol' timer company. Blueprint is such a unique colour, amazingly rich and never the same hue each day. Ride quality is light years ahead of my '18 TRD Sport. Grey interior erases the darkness of black.

Hated the way my TRD Sport drove, it was way too stiff. The coil springs on this make such a difference. I miss the V8 for sure, the sound mostly. But this is plenty quick, hopefully free of the wastegate actuator issue.

Braking is tight with a firm pedal. I was worried about losing the hydraulic steering, but the electric is nicely weighted. Not as good with feedback but still good. Trans shifts perfectly, never hunts. View over the hood is expansive but sightlines are vastly improved around the A-pillar.

Interior feels almost Lexus like. Base sound system is surprisingly good. Heated wheel is a bit slow to warm but does get warm enough. Love the way it, and the heated seats, maintain the last setting without defaulting off. Auto shut off is not intrusive at all, welcome even at long red lights.You can choose whether Autostop tells you what it is doing or not.

Other than the fingerprints, the big screen is awesome, although there's no way to edit the order of radio presets. There is "dark mode" in both CarPlay and regular display. Piano black plastic around the shifter scratches easily and always looks dusty, would love some carbon fibre here. 4WD selector looks to be a dust catcher too.

The Toyota connected services app is slick, I get alerts on my phone if I leave a window open, for example, or leave the truck unlocked. Can lock the truck from anywhere in the country. Can start the truck from my phone and check fuel and tire pressures etc. Can also ask,” hey toyota” just like Siri. Setting up my profile was a bit clunky, but once dialed in, connects to my phone and profile every time. Auto dimming side mirrors are pure lux. Noise level seems way down over the '18. Seats are super comfy and get way hot, finally. Open roof and open rear window is utter freedom.

Need a lid for the open storage compartment under the seat to carry tools on top. Would be nice to have a switch for the bed lights in the bed, and it's absolutely stupid to not have any kind of bed step with new integrated bumper design. (Can't even order one right now.) But light at the tailgate is great. Camera visibility could be a bit brighter and sharper but the views are terrific.

Still in the honeymoon stage but so far lovin' everything about it.
