Does the lid open all the way? I read that the rail hinders the full opening and you need to swing them open to be able to fully open the box.

There is a guy locally that has a drivers side and is asking $100. Im just not sure about wanting to remove the tiedown loop.

They will open enough to reach in and get something when not swung out, but you have to swing them out a bit to open all the way. That's no big deal unless you have a load blocking the swing action. They are very easy to swing out and back in.

You don't have to remove the tiedown loop. I used a grinder to modify the mounting bracket of my swingcase and it's worked great for almost two years.

In a way I didn't like the lid not opening 100% and not being able to switch lid hinge sides, hence I ordered Lund boxes ( aluminum vs cheap plastic ). You can switch opening sides and they come either as 4 /5 or even 6 ft length. My bed is always full of tools so swinging would be useless for me. The Lund is backordered a few months though.

Home Depot has steel and aluminum ones from Lund sold under the Tradesman brand. Might be an option. Im up in Canada and ordered from truck parts superstore.

Should just be an easy install. Pop the tray up and pull out the hatch to open your cabin filter inside your glove box.

    A bunch
half a yard of dirt from a skidsteer and I could notice the squat, the second bucket made it squat more than the first one for sure. Guessing a CM would react in a similar way.

    Tool box?

Seems too odd of a shape to put on, and small. Doesn't flow right.

I don't have a crewmax but here are a couple pics of my DC squatting pretty good.
About 1,400lbs of shingles. And another pic of a yard of soil. Which must have been around 2k lbs. Yes, I know that's waaay over what my truck is rated for. My brother asked to borrow my truck to pick up 1/2 yard and by the time he got there he decided to get a full yard. My Father and Brother said it handled fine for the 5ish mile ride back to my brothers.

Your truck already doesn't have chrome on it which btw looks great that way. I personally wouldn't go adding any either. The red is cool and perhaps if black was the back color I don't think it would look bad on the tailgate somewhere. But the red/chrome on an all cavalry blue and black tundra would be a no for me.
