    I am convinced that the stock filter actually filters better. Some say the AFE increases performance but they both seemed about the same to me.

    I think it depends on who you talk to. DirtyDeeds recommends stock air filter yet DAP includes this AFE filter in some of his tuning packages with claims that it adds power (might be in the mid/higher RPM ranges). I have plenty of threads giving this filter high praise and plenty of responses that always say stock is the best so who knows.

    interesting. Idc about the miniscule power gains from an air filter. I’d rather have the better filtrating filter. I have the AFE pro dry S currently

    Too many, but not enough....
    pretty sure the only way you get better performance is by letting in more air, and by doing that, you are filtering less, at least most of the time, unless you have some crazy expensive material, i would rather have a cleaner engine than slightly better performance, if any. Good call OP.

    I’m interested. However, the number on the website 30-10247 is for their oiled filter, not the dry one. Your filter also shows the P5R. Was yours an earlier model or can you clarify?

    I did notice that on AFE’s website but the filter media shown in those photos is blue. If you look at the Amazon link it does specifically say oil free. Maybe there was some kind of manufacture update in the last year. I can assure you this is not the oiled version.
