OK, I'll admit it. Toyota gave me two of each and I have seemed to misplace on key and remote.

Is there a Cheaper replacement than Toyota? I think the salesperson told me a replacement was over $300.

I put Cheap Key replacement in the search engine. Nothing came up.

    Any help appreciated.

Most lock smiths can get you a key and remote for much less than $300

I am passing a locksmith tomorrow. I'll stop in and ask. I know the remote is a bit of an issue and must be programed. Do the keys just need to be cut?

I thought I read some time ago other options than Toyota. I can't find that post.

The keys have a microchip in the plastic. Without the chip, the engine will cut off right after starting.

Edit: most of the keys do anyway. If you have the letter G stamped on the key, then it has a chip. Maybe other letters, I don't remember. I assume your newer 2020 def has a chip.

I purchased a transponder key just yesterday for my 2019 Tundra. 175.00 for the key and programming it. I got it at a locksmith and it’s an OEM key.

I called one locksmith near me. He wanted $310. Almost the same price as Toyota.

I literally just got a Toms Keys order in the mail. Got 2 factory keys with integrated fob and 2 "valet" keys, plus the programmer rental for around 200 bucks I think. I'll let you know how it goes once I get around to doing it

I'll have to check them out. How does it work? I assume you have to send them your remote.

When I bought my used 2018, the dealer only gave me 1 ignition key. I went to the local locksmith and got a copy made that would unlock the doors only. It wouldn't start the engine. I don't remember the cost, but it was minimal compared to the price of a fully functional key. I'm guessing $10.00.

Did it work? Any tips? Just ordered a set of Tom's Keys (1 regular key and one w no buttons) to replace a key I lost on the trail while mountainbiking.

It did! I.made a few keys for when we're camping (can manually open the truck and still start it), and a few fobs and keys. Super simple.with only 1 not acting as described during programing, but testing good afterany tries.

Overall, thrilled with keys provided and programmer.
