    Y'all are a bad influence!
Picked up my Benchmade Claymore an hour ago. Fricken love it already! The auto open is a bit strong but when you expect it, its not bad at all. I really liked the Benchmade Turret but it definitely has a bit more weight to it compared to the Claymore and the Turret is manual open. This is my EDC and it feels no different in the pocket than my cheap Gerber that its replacing. Due to the shape of the Claymore, my Olight mini Baton 3 fits even closer to this knife and frees up a touch more pocket space.

    :yay:

That would be for me, I asked Ray if he can make one for my brother as a surprise for him . I still haven’t seen my Bronco knife yet , but very excited to go home and check it out.
Thanks Ray for making it happen.

Finished this very thin, Sontoku slicer today. Blade is 7 1/4” long 1084 & 15n20
The handle is a a piece of very rare and unusual quilted mahogany. I bought 2 boards, back in the 80’s. Most of the wood from “the tree” went for high end guitars ( ask Slash, Guns n Rose)02ECAC4F-C56F-40A9-B6CB-DBB738FAE347.jpg194409AE-4A52-4EC5-9B02-9F6359F732DB.jpg3A4341C6-BA96-4234-9AB3-3A7CFDDD99AC.jpg946E7F6A-14A9-44C8-8495-E5A6E1BED3B8.jpg95FF89F5-E0EB-46B5-8F48-B6931EC904C8.jpgB216C6DC-5866-44ED-8A5F-292F875EDF08.jpg902C6CDF-2113-4D2C-86F6-DF53C1AE5413.jpgthis one is available

Man, that is amazing. Love that random pattern on the blade, and that handle just looks great on there.

if you do a search for, “quilted mahogany, the tree” you will get lots of hits like this. It’s pretty famous wood. There’s so little left, I read somewhere, that if you can get it, it’s about $1,000/ board ft. I bought the boards, but never felt that I had developed the skills to use it, lol

I think I'd be tempted to sell them at that price, but it makes a beautiful handle on that knife.

That looks really nice and great homage to Rick Hinderer. I say go for the anodize! Is the hardware ti or steel?

There’s definitely not enough for a guitar. I had pictured making maybe a jewelry box or inlays for a small chest. Unfortunately, knife scales are frequently not an ideal ‘canvas’ for display of the amazing pattern, (too small). I’m planning to keep it and selectively use it, when it feels right.

Hiking along the Deschutes today and digging this knife. My first and only integral. James Barnes. Just thinking about the machining to make this happen makes my head spin.

Thanks man, I go back and forth with anodizing but I’m pretty sure I’m going to give it a whirl, I can alway remove if I don’t like it. This particular one features ti scales and frame lock with steel hardware. Really well made, I kinda gotta thing for zt’s currently :D
