I recently picked up my new 2022 Platinum last week from the dealer. Beyond stoked on the truck! They put on a 1 inch level kit along with 18 inch method wheels (+18 offset) and 275/70r18 KO2's. I asked them beforehand if they would put 35's on the truck and they said "they will not fit without a larger level kit and they do not make a level kit yet that is compatible with your AVS and air suspension.

Naturally I do not believe a thing the dealer says so I started calling around to off-road shops to have a larger level kit installed so I could fit 35's. They all told me that the 2inch level kits will not work on the Platinum with AVS but we could try to fit 295's. I got to the shop and asked them to try and fit 35's on with my current 1 inch level kit. they said it would rub but I said lets try it anyway.. They put them on one wheel and told me that they are rubbing. I asked them "well lets take it around the block and see". We rallied 20mph in and out of the parking lot to the street and sure enough.. ZERO RUBBING on the frame or wheel wells.

    That offset is the ticket.

I would like to add that the "self leveling" rear air suspension still works. I drove home with my old tires in the back and it stayed level. The ride still feels as close to factory as you could expect although I get the slightest bit of sway when turning at higher speeds. I will check my air pressure tomorrow to see if that is the problem. All in all I would say it rides and handles excellent.

Thank you so much for the post!!
I too have a plat with avs and I’m patiently waiting on a lift that would allow me to put in 35s.
What brand tires did you get? And have you tried reverse in full lock?

You could run some spacers like these to get 1/2"-1" lift. From what it looks like you could fit 1/2" spacer on the factory studs and still get full threads in the nut. Should net about 1" of lift. There are some Ebay vendors that sell the spacers in 1/2" thicknesses so you aren't stacking them. Not the best lift idea but cheap, easy and will work.

The shop told me the level kit is there own in-house kit they made for the truck. I think it is actually only a .75 spacer that yields 1inch or lift.

I am currently in Encinitas California and averaging about 13 MPG. Thats is mostly driving around town in sport mode. I will get around 17 on the highway going between 65 and 75 mph.

This is probably what they did. They said they made there own spacer in house but I'm skeptical.

If you ever get time, could you try hypermiling it for a stretch on the highway ? I know with the current setup its not intended to get great hwy mpg but Im interested to see what can be squeezed out of it.

Toyo AT3's. zero rub at full lock in both directions. I double checked this morning to make sure.

I'm sure I could baby it in eco mode and squeeze 20mpg out of it. I will give it a shot.
