This is true. At least no one can claim he doesn't go "full send" with his truck. He's got it stuck multiple times, ripped panels on the approach & departure angles, high-centered it a few times, pin-striped it, and has a huge dent in the rear DS door from off-roading it. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed but he's got guts...and sometimes guts is enough. lol.

Yeah they’re all P tires except maybe the small 18” and the TRD Pro 18”. Tire Rack has all the OEM tires listed already.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
My wife would love a new Sequoia, and at this point given how marginal I find the packaging, options, and pricing on the new Tundra if we buy another Toyota she might just get her way.

The Sequoia is a better large SUV for us than most of the competition from what I see. The Tundra is a middling 1/2 ton pickup truck compared to the competition for what I’m looking for though.

Im thinking the pro has p rated also, which if true, is crazy for what this "off road" truck cost.

yeah sadly i think you are right. if we go by the price increase of the 21 vs 22 tundra platinum, thats about 7.5k, then add another 3.5k for the hybrid and the 22 sequoia plat @ 66.5k will push close to 80k. 66.5k + 7.5k markup (from 22 to 23 MY) + 3.5k hybrid = 77.5k w/o 1 option or additional pkg.

current 22 sequoia platinum is 66.5k

hopefully this is where the consolidated engine, chassis and assembly can get us some savings. 80k is a hard pass for me on it.

This was physically hard to watch.

Don't worry about him breaking something. He already ripped off the front bumper in an earlier video.

I doubt pro comes with that tire you posted. They are Fallon wildpeaks of the same size but the oem’s are p rated and the aftermarket ones are usually better and LT. From what I understand, tire companies usually have a contract with manufactures to make a lightweight low cost tire with their name on it. For example this size wildpeak in p rated is only found on a factory pro. If you try to get that same tire from a tire dealer, then it will be an lt likr the one you posted.
On a side note, I bought a new f150 back in 2004 that came factory with LT tires and it was just a regular 4x4, and not some fancy hyped op off road truck.

    lol

    73k/1330 …. Err wait

that capstone is such a total rip off, stupid premium over a platinum, for what , a sound reduction windshield when the testing on the regular one was the lowest truck db ever tested by tfl?

what a let down on that specific model

subjective of course but the panda bear interior really is a turn off

    Yeah the Crapstone is stupid.

TRD Pro pricing just makes little sense for what you get.

I think the sweet spot may be Limited with the right options and engine of your choice. Maybe step up to Platinum or 1794 if you really want it loaded, Platinum if you don’t need TRD off road and 1794 if you do.

Clearly with any of them if you really need a towing and hauling rig, the pricing on a Tundra will often buy you a 3/4 ton gas and even diesel.

Lol go figure. I never saw that info for the normal release but it was in the capstone specs like it was special . just reinforces that it isn't special.

Probably because in a 6200lb brick the electric motor can’t really run the truck by itself. In stop and go traffic the ICE still needs to be involved, the hybrid helps but doesn’t make up for the sheer mass of the truck.

Truck is still more efficient at highway speeds, and the extra weight costs 1MPG vs non hybrid.

Not sure if the F150 uses the same hybrid system but they are rated 24 city and 24 hwy, 24 combined…… I know the F150 is a bit lighter due to most of the body parts being made of aluminum, but still doesn’t make sense too me for a hybrid to be rated worst at city mpg vs hwy, I believe the tundra hybrid goes full electric in 18 MPH and less

Well the Ford F-150 PowerBoost uses a lithium ion battery pack which saves a bunch of weight, and the electric motor in the F-150 replaces the torque converter completely eliminating the parasitic loss of a torque converter.
