So back again with beat to death questions..... Its a good one though. So as I posted in the other thread I just bought an 2000 Limited, 209,xxx mi on the clock 4.7 as we all know.

So it has a leveling kit on it, owner before last put it on. However it has the factory sized/ travel shock absorbers in it still. Now do I need to swap them for a longer travel absorber? And if I do, what type(s)/ brand(s) should I be looking at? I am a huge believer in Bilstein shocks.

Not doing any rock climbing, or hard trails. just some mild off road/ field work, might have a genny welder in it from time to time. Mainly to and from work, occasionally have to haul my project car to and from the tuning shop.

    As always, pre-emptively thanks

    It's good
My first level kit was bigger springs (maybe just higher rate) on OEM shock. It was a fairy stiff ride. I would recommend a different setup.

I should have clarified what type of leveling it. It has the spring perch spacing caps in the front. I dont know what brand as I didnt put it in, nor did those records come with.

Sounds like you have a spacer lift. Not uncommon and some would say not ideal.

If your shocks dont stick out in funny places, can you even say you have a race truck?

Have you bottomed out (or topped out) yet?
