Windy is showing more rain than snow.

    I haven't heard/read anything about significant wind.
The wind never really dies when the land is this flat.

That's what I've seen as well. Bunch of rain, then the temp drops transitioning from rain to 'wintry mix' to snow....then accumulating snow.

I think we'll get ice for sure, but I'm leery of significant snowfall.
We do get hit 1-2 times per year with a few inches, so it's totally plausible. Plus it's gone north and south of us all winter so far, so we're due to catch a mouthful of that fluffy white bullshit.
But I'll be really forking surprised if we get a foot of snow.

That would be funny if KY and TN get hit with snow but IN doesn't this winter.

I embrace the suck if it happens. Give me a foot of snow. I'll have some epic video content of Southern drivers and CA transplants getting stuck.

Did the cerakote headlight restoration this morning on the nanny’s ‘rolla. Not sure I did a great job. Maybe I buy her new housings if I made it worse.

I also threw some $50 9012's in after modding the tab. I wonder if she will notice. She did ask for this so hopefully she pretends to think it's better :)

I'm sure it made sense to the guy who originally serviced it and put those hanging boxes there for easy access.

I think it looks good. I'm sure it's better than it was. Reality is, it's hard to look past the rocksplosion that hit the hood. Do her a huge favor and hit the JY for a $75-125 replacement color-matched hood. I'd tell you to pay to get it painted since it's single-stage and should cost way less, but then it would highlight how much the rest of the paint needs a solid polishing all the way around!

I did mention before how much I thought you guys would be amused about the "make sure you tape off the headlight so you don't trash the paint" once you saw photos ;)

I think there is some degree of humblebrag here. She also likes to tell me how she got her Explorer for $1000 from a neighbor, it's a nice trim even, compared to the base model 'rolla.

I think she might actually prefer the rock chip hood, sort of gives her street cred about being smart with money, ensures no jealousy from peers, safe when parking in sketch 'hoods, etc. She leaves the windows open, keys inside, kid toys everywhere, that's how she rolls, nobody f's with her.

I mean, beyond the rats nest of RF cabling and splitters there, wtf is up with all the TNI boxes hanging all over the place? It's not like it's that freaking hard to tap-con the boxes into masonry.

I will say though, looks like someone has a killer fiber connection going into the building.

Oh, and that orange cable run, I just noticed that. There's an accident waiting to happen.

Holy crap there's a lot going on here.

I think spray-on clear coat would likely have looked better if I did it right but I wasn't invested to that degree. I think I'd rather buy new assemblies and replace them, but if that involved dropping the bumper I'd be annoyed about the level of effort.

Sounds like ours. Yaris, beat to hell, high miles, "manual-power everything", and same-same on windows down, doors unlocked etc. That car has been thru hell, and I've repaired a lot of shit for her for free, plugging tires, fixing condensate drain leaks twice, replace rear seat belts (since our kids ride in the car sometimes), and countless other crap. The engine literally just keeps running and running and running. But I kinda wish she'd go out and get something with some power options already. I keep my eyes peeled for something worthwhile.

You're dropping the bumper or at least pulling it out of your way on both sides. This is why I polished my Rolla lights too

My '06 'rolla would have been a perfect nanny vehicle. If I had real space I could have kept it, it had 130k or so but was in nice clean shape. Didn't get much in trade for it when I got the Prius, just didn't have extra space to park it.

In hindsight I probably should have sold the prius to the nanny rather than my sis, she could have dumped big miles on it. I just felt guilty about it leaving the family b/c my dad went with me to buy it and chipped in a little bit just to feel like he was helping.

Anyway, no more cars for me for a long time, just trucks and maybe a motorcycle or something.

Also, saw a Rivian yesterday (parked on the street, oh the horror) and sproing! I could see getting excited about that. Bummer is it would have to replace the Taco and I don't want to give up my only MT.

I tried to sell my <40k mile loaded '13 Camry hybrid XLE to her for $8k, but she wasn't having it at the time. So I traded it on the truck and talked the stealership into giving me almost $13 for it to get me under $4k cash sale on tax/tag/title for my FGT.

Stealership was tossing out a number of $16,500 or near that for my Tundra, which was total BS at the time for the market and the appearance of the truck and we all knew it. However, Young Thug had rear-ended me in the Camry at 40-50mph one day at a stop light (still have pics) so there was repaired frame damage, though the repairs were done w/OEM parts by a Toyota Dealership, and KBB was around $10.500 excluding the two accidents it'd been in. I saw what they got for it at auction. They took a $3k hit.

3 mos later she came back to me, "Damn, I really wish I would taken you up on that Camry!" Like, "I wish you had too" but knowing I'd have overpaid for the FGT if she had.

Got my Skid Row Cat “Guards”. They mount up to the Tranny Skid. Very simple yet should be a nice deterrent.

1stGen10 is still active for 10% off at Skid Row for all their skids.

So now we know where @empty_lord 's truck originated? That would explain the phenomenal bargain on the rollover special he got. :D

Oh, wait. I think it's 00-02, the front bumper gives it away.
