Ha. Been meaning to pull carpet and do thorough cleaning since I bought the truck used a little while ago-just never had the time. Was a concrete construction foremans truck so it was in need.

might as well put some sound deadening in while it’s apart!

Nice thing about doing what you're doing, it's going to be as close to new as it can when you finish

I've been known to pull the wheels and clean up the suspension and stuff.. my Camaro was immaculate inside and out and under.. but it was a garage kept show car. (2002 35th anniversary edition)

I thought about it but didn't know if I have to remove the stock deadening/coating that's already there.

Nah you can install over it. The area that the factory “deadening” covers is pretty small if memory serves, just a couple of areas in the front footwells and some along and in front of the back wall.

I have Dirty Deeds 10” system with resonator. I called and checked with Keith (owner and designer of the DD exhaust system) and he suggested running an extended resonator (32” instead of 26”) to eliminate any drone from shortening the pipe which I installed when I cut it.

It sounds almost the same to me - I think it comes off a tiny bit quieter than before but I think that is just due to not being able to stand right next to the pipe.

Put some cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil under the hood. I decided to do this because my neighbor found a rats nest and chewed wires under the hood of his ‘20 Tundra limited last week.

On startup, I get a faint whiff of peppermint. Kinda nice actually!

Not as hard as it looks-just tedious. Took about 2.5h to stip it down to this. That's not rushing, drinking coffee while doing it.

I wouldn't be worried about the tear down, I'd be worried about putting it back together...correctly.

It's pretty self explanatory. All seat bolts except 2-that keep rear seats together-are the same. Seatbelt bolts are same. Panels all snap back-no screws. Front seat-3 electrical connectors, middle -1, passenger 3. Amp for stereo 2 plugs.

Swapped out my Camburg UCAs for Total Chaos to back off the caster.

The Camburgs will show up for sale soon. Only had them on for about 4k miles of mostly pavement use so they're in great shape.

As DCB500 said, just install it over the top of existing soundproofing. It took me 2 days to soundproof the floor of my old F-150. I highly recommend this mod.

Do you have any more pictures of this installed, really interested in how it fits at the sides? (edges of the cover)

It looks good and the install looks by far the easiest.

Been driving for a year with a towel covering the chrome waiting.

I used Meso stuff on my old Tacoma been waiting for him to have his parts ready for sale but I am about to give up.

I do not like the bolt heads on the AJT, just anther place for crud to collect.
