Can someone tell me why there are two wheel sizes offered for the Tundra, 18’s and 20’s? It seems like the larger the wheel, the fuller the wheel well looks. Why would you want a smaller wheel?

    Thanks!

Do the 20s not have a smaller sidewall and thus the same overall diameter of the tire?

Big wheel = less rubber = rougher ride. Plus big wheels look stupid too. I hate big wheels as much as I hate chrome. 18" is as big as need, 17" is better.

I hate “BIG” wheels also but 20’s aren’t “BIG”. My Venza and my Tacoma both have 20’s and they look fine…plus the ride is great.

If you are going to off-road more than just 'dirt-road' or 'muddy-road' more sidewall on the tire (smaller wheel size) enables you to air down more and increase traction. So traditionally off-roaders want 17 or 18". The Capstone trim has 22" wheels. Screams "pavement princess" to me.

Yep, all the tires are the same overall diameter despite the wheel diameter.

as usual with this topic, it is a lot over-exaggerated when considering 17-20" wheels.
if you're the type that is going to air-down on the trail then by all means buy smaller wheels and big rubber. If you're like the 99.999% majority of us that only occasionally leave the asphalt, get whatever floats your boat.
to be honest, tire and wheel availability are the most relevant considerations when choosing wheels size. the bigger you go, the less options you find so just be sure your tires are available in the size of wheel you pick.

Also expense comes into play the larger diameter the more expensive everything gets

This.. and ride quality. Same size same brand different rim size= rougher ride with large wheel size- less sidewall flex
