Turbo issues, fit/finish issues, power lag issues, sagging issues, wind noise and now random shutdowns ... Yikes, this is starting to read like a domestic brand with known issues forum (don't know which model to mention without offending someone so I'll offend almost everyone! LOL).

Yes, I know we expected first year growing pains but this is still very "un-Toyota like."

I dunno. Sounds a lot like the 3rd Gen Tacoma rollout and that was fine after a couple months.

If it shuts off on you again I'm pretty sure you can just pop it in neutral then tap the brake and started again. Glad nothing bad happened!!

So true. VF Tuner, also known as OV tune, cracked the Lexus version V35-FTS back in 2018. Not sure if they have their 2022 Tundra yet, but they have posted on fb asking for volunteer to get some data from the new truck. But most likely they will pursue the development of a tune or tuning software as there's a big market out there.

I will let everyone know what Toyota says about this issue. I hope they will get right on this. I do not feel safe driving it again.

If I was a brand new Tundra owner, and something went wrong with my truck, this forum would be the first place I’d check to see if anyone had experienced something similar. Because many folks might be new owners, they might not have a long term history with the forum, and joined to look for guidance and support.

So.... I drive about 1000 miles a week. I still haven't seen a new Tundra on the road.
    I'm in MN. What gives?

Prob the biggest list of single owner issues I’ve seen. I’ve been in his shoes. Stuff gets fixed but leaves a sour taste.

I am new to the Tundra world coming from a Tacoma. I just happened to call the dealer last Friday morning and they received a limited smoke brown or whatever they call the color. Anyway, drove out there just to look at it. Nobody had that color reserved so I jumped at the opportunity and purchased it. Now I am having second thoughts after what happened today. Truck shutting down while driving. Hope the dealership will get right to the problem right away. Need a new thread for this issue so we can provide updates.

Damn this is more common than the wastegate. I’ve seen more loss of power and failures than the wastegate. But I have seen a lot of them fixed with resets .

Well. When I drive to my dealer to see if they have units in, all I see is plated 22s on the lot for the employees! Unreal, but they are getting first dibs clearly. Lol.

I had just gotten off the interstate 79S on the off ramp and slowed to a stop to make a right turn when the engine just shut off. I lost power steering but I was able to pull over. The check engine light came on. After I pulled over, I restarted the truck and drove it home with no issue. I was on the road for about 30 minutes before it happened. It was about 15 degrees outside. No sure if that had a play in it. I will post an update once I get any information from Toyota.

Maybe tech could also bring in a shaman to burn sage and chant: “Mmmmm please let this work cause Toyota NA won’t tell us what real issue is.” You know, give customer maximum possible confidence it won’t happen again…

My guess would be Lexus held off on the Iforce max due to interior esthetics… I believe their third row folds flat. Could be completely wrong, just a guess.

Looks so much better with the lower portion of the grill color matched. Bet it would be better if the bottom portion was matched as well.

Damn, that remedies pretty much the only complaint I had about the appearance. Now it looks closer to the new Sequoia front end, which looks sharp.

I would expect a 50 HP gain on a standard day at sea level with headers and a new exhaust. I don't want to buy a new 2022 truck to wait for someone is to hack the tune so that I can pay them to tune the truck and void my warranty. If I was going to go that route (voiding my warranty) I would just go with a Magnuson turbo on my 2021 and have 550 HP. I am disappointed that Toyota decided to scrap a V8 option.

It seems different manufacturers are experimenting with different bed materials. Ford is doing the aluminum thing, which doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I used to work with composites like carbon fibber. Composites are tough as hell, depending on how they are structured and used. An old Cobra composite main rotor blade can take a hit from a 50 cal and still keep flying so there isn't any doubt composites are tough.
