The same day I received a recall letter from Toyota my 2021 ,1794 with 3500 miles
Popped and stopped steering. Lucky I was close to home and could call a neighbor for a ride home.Anyone else have this problem? And how long did it take to get the repairs done? Thanks 270028F3-AD60-4865-9EC1-185A311E09CC.jpg

I’ve gone through two power steering pumps and a steering rack on my truck. Pumps blew seals after doing donuts on unlevel surfaces (my truck is lifted with 35s) near full lock. Rack blew after 186k miles when trying to back up a 12,000lb trailer up a steep driveway again near full lock. The pumps took about a week to get the work done and the rack took a little over a week. I would expect close to $1000 if it’s the pump and double that if it’s the rack. Could be longer since they have the recall for the leaking racks and everyone is getting their trucks in to have theirs inspected. Sorry to hear, it’s no fun.

My 2021 blew out the power steering seal at 1200 miles. Toyota got me a rental but it took about two months to get it fixed. In these times I understand the long wait. Still love my tundra.

    Pretty things
First thread Ive seen where the recall letter actually applies! Hopefully they've had time to sort things out on the supply side and its a quick repair for you.

Enjoy the corolla in the meantime.? ;)

Yes ,the repair was done by my dealer in promptly and I left for FL from MI
the next day and had zero problems since the repair. I’m Fortunate that we have a very good dealer here in Battle Creek Michigan.
