I hear you on owning one of the last dinosaurs. Even if I buy a new Tundra with the iForceMax, I’m hanging onto my trusty 2007.

My newest dinosaur is this beastie:3B57DE51-AC80-4A53-A608-58AF74404ED9.jpg

Bought it new in 2015, a rare car and truly a dying breed.

Sweet! Does that fender vent cool the front rotors?

Unfortunately no, a cosmetic flourish the cheap bastages at Holden didn’t actually vent anything with. Frankly the engine bay could use some additional venting, that LS3 is crammed in there tight and puts out a lot of heat.

On the plus side those big Brembos have never faded in my use but I don’t autocross the car or track it.

Yes, absolutely shameful. It annoys me every time I look at the car.

As far as I know the Australian home market Commodore model with the supercharged 6.2L did have functional venting. Some guys were able to source the hardware over here before Holden closed down. I wasn’t so lucky, and don’t have the skills to cut them out myself, and the fenders are steel so corrosion would be an issue.

Pretty shameful, you should probably be mocked for owning that. ;)

I mock myself all the time. I mean who spends $46K on a performance sedan that 99.9999999999999% of people who see it can’t figure out if it’s an Impala or a Malibu? Hint: it’s neither.

    Weirdos like me, that’s who.

Always fun if I see the reaction to starting the car because the stock exhaust is a bit rowdy, normal question: “How did you get it to sound like that?” LOL… “Stock exhaust, it sure sounds mean for a 4 banger…”

Just trying to point out how hypocritical you are when you constantly mock some Tundra owners here with their ugly trucks, and their stupid non functional scoops, yet here you are in the same group you mock, just a different brand and its totally fine.

I just enjoy mocking 2.5 Gen owners because they’re constantly commenting on the 3rd Gen Tundra being ugly. They’ve earned the mocking. The fake hood scoop is just the low hanging fruit, it’s the “your mom is fat” joke level of mockery. Not particularly clever, nor original, but effective at rustling jimmies nonetheless.

Yeah, but the nonfunctional hoop scoop is a fabulous place to put some nonsensical lights that don’t really serve a purpose either.
Maybe you need to slap some LEDs in those nonfunctional fender vent scoops, lol.

I do agree on the cosmetics of the hood scoop. Liked the original Pro hood lines without it more. Unfortunately, it comes factory attached. More trouble and $ to remove than what I would want to deal with.

Chevy SS. Knew a guy that had one, and he loved it. Was the fast Grandpa car. He did get the holden badges because he got tired of people asking if it was an Impala or Malibu, and his daughter just called it an Impalibu because it looked like a blend of both.

I enjoy reading these threads, it gives me information on other's perspective and a little information about the 22. Funny, a very similar thread exists on the Harley Davidson forums discussing the Harley changes on the Road Glide. The bottom line do your research then buy and drive/ride what you want.

My wife bought a 2017 SS for 40k when Chevrolet had their red tag (20% off) sale. It was her reward to herself after raising 5 kids and driving suburbans for years. Her grandma car and it was a blast to drive. She was getting questions about that car all the time and whenever someone knew what it was they had to have a conversation about it. Sold it a year ago with 70k miles on it for exactly what she paid for it. She now has a Camry XSE V6 and it’s fun but NOTHING like driving the SS.

22 looks like absolute shiite and can hardly be considered a truck IMO as much as a morph of a suv with a truck bed out back. Looks much more natural in sequoia form.

Plus these damn Toyotas keep getting thinner on materials with paper mache like plastic build quality.

    keep your overpriced v6 wonder.

Well, I tried to PM so I didn't derail this thread, but I can't. So, I was gonna be nosy and ask what the insurance on that runs? I know that location and individual drivers have a huge impact on insurance prices, but I'd still like to know if you are willing to share that info. Feel free to PM if you don't want it publicly blasted.

Good job man! That’s why I love these trucks. People can drive whatever they prefer. After seeing the 22’ in person I actually really like it but still ended up going with a brand new 21’ V8

Absolutely. I've already put my $ where my mouth is into a 21 TRD Pro.

Even with that said, I am mildly dissatisfied with how thinly made some parts of the 21 are constructed compared to my past 16 and 12.

The 22 is a move in the wrong direction entirely.

I am trying to remember off the top of my head. We insure with American Family and get a bundle discount for home owners and 3 vehicles.

I want to say the SS is around $90.00/month to run full coverage on.

    see sig for mods.....

TRUTH....... I'll likely keep my Tundra till I no longer want or need a truck. I was a Jeep guy (SUV) from 1984-2017, so the new Wagoneer is calling my name, but so far am holding strong to my wallet.
