Still looks fugly to me. I've got 10k+ in aftermarket parts in mine and I'd still keep it over this thing.

    see sig for mods.....
I've never liked Toyota styling or design, hence why my 2017 TRD PRO DC in Cement was my first Toyota. It continues to be my 'Goldilocks' vehicle. My favorite DD vehicle ever. Love how it rides, drives, looks and performs. Lately the wife and I have been talking about getting back in a 3 row full size SUV, and the Sequoia was a possibility till we saw the cargo area behind the rear seats. Worse than the previous generation. I'm waiting till 2024 either way, but right now it is either keep the Tundra (as intended) the next 10+ years or go for the Jeep Wagoneer Series I.

I think the ‘16 redesign of the Tacoma was great.

I think one of the main design problems with the ‘22 is the front end (grill & bumper). I think Toyota realizes this now since there’s been pics of the supposed new model which has a much improved front end. It looks similar to the front end of the ‘23 sequoia. I would not be surprised if the ‘23 Tundra has a new front end.

As for the ‘22, I got to spend plenty of time analyzing one in person with no sales person hovering over me. While there are (quote/unquote) lots of improvements on paper, it just did not move me. Not jealous as someone mentioned above, but simply does not move the emotion needle in any way. Continuing to mod my ‘17 for as long as I can.

Wish I could swap the 22 interior on my 18. Other then the interior, not really digging the 22.

Oh sure, the 3rd gen Tacos are beautiful trucks probably the best looking pickup you can buy. They’re great if you don’t mind driving a truck with the torque band of a 2 stroke dirt bike.

Ha, another one here. Plus we had a couple of oil leaks starting at 800 miles which didn't built any confidence in it.

Didn’t have a single issue with mine from 16-21, was a nice little truck, but this thing is a beast.

I had a 2017 taco lease. While it was nice to be able to get around and pack easily because of its size, the engine was lacking and interior space also. I owned 3 previous tundras. So when the lease was up, it was a no brainier to get back into a tundra. Sold the taco to Carvana 3 months early and made $900 dollars. Toyota also sent me a $350 check for releasing another Toyota and the payment for the tundra was about $40 cheaper.

My opinion is that when the Tundra came out in 07 it took the truck industry by surprise. Now with the new redesign it’s just there. Nothing special, nothing new that hasn’t been done, just a truck. All the reviewers that have reviewed the new tundra are probably scared to say what they really mean. I have seen some reviewers hint to their dislike by saying “that’s different” or “interesting” when comparing it to the previous gen. And you can tell they meant to say “ why would Toyota do that”. Now you have the turbo issue, complaints about wind noise, radio/entune not working right, mpg is not impressive, etc. And for those that said the previous gen was dated, well the 22 instrument cluster looks like an after thought. I say Toyota dropped that ball on this redesign.

They never should have messed with the V6 engine and trans. Had a 17 before getting my 21 Tundra.

i think it’s a nice looking truck! But I just love my V8 to much, and the sound
Has way more power than I’ll ever need. A V8 as an option in that new tundra would of been bad A$$!!

I traded my '18 DC for a '21 CM because I thought I might want a CM in the near-ish future and I had a feeling I wasn't going to like the next gen Tundra. I made that trade literally days before the next gen pics were released.

I'm quite happy with my decision.

ETA: New and old the day I bought it.

    Looks like 5/21.

I got lucky, found it on the lot, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Had 2 miles on it.

The dealership guys even said, "What you just did doesn't happen these days. No one just wanders in here and finds what they want on the lot."

Every time a new generation of a truck comes out people are vocal about it being ugly. I was one of the first to have a 3rd gen Tacoma back in 2015 and everyone was having a fit about the way it looked, now I see more of them on the road than rangers and frontiers combined.

I never thought the 3rd gen Tundra was ugly. I kind of like it, although I wish they had a step to get in the bed, even if I wouldn't ever use it. It drives nice, has a bunch of power, and I think the interior is one of the nicest, if not the nicest in a full-size truck.

Time will tell on durability of the new power train, but Lexus has been running turbos for a while and last I checked they weren't struggling in the reliability department.

Nothing is stopping anyone that hates the look of the new truck from buying something else. I personally think the most hideous full-size right now is the F150 and Titan. I think the F150 looked way better in the last iteration.

Does the 3rd gen have tow hooks? I've been staring at the front end and I dont see them. Retractable maybe, like the air dam?
