I love a standard side salad, but the only dressing I can stand is ranch. Not a vinegar fan. Pretty sure everybody can get on board with steak (medium rare), brisket, ribs, or some rotisserie chicken.

 

Fully agree on the flavored ones; but they make unflavored. I don't know what it tastes like by itself, but it's fine for a smoothie.

 

Those are good too, but I think I prefer the OG.

 

Yeah, those either didn’t exist when I was a kid or we were too poor to afford them… my kid and I definitely crush some frosted mini wheats on a regular basis now though.

 

Raisin Bran, Shredded Wheat are good. I like all the old man cereals.

Speaking of, where's my Cream of Wheat at??

 

Not a fan of ranch. Maybe we can do a side garden salad and options for dressing. I like 1000 Island dressing on salads.

Speaking of old man stuff, my grandfather used to make a big bowl of oatmeal and instead of milk he'd put a dollop of vanilla ice cream on it. Delicious.

It's like oatmeal, but more disgusting.

 

Home made vinaigrette with evoo or peanut oil, balsamic vinegar, Johnny's Garlic, and a little s&p.

Neither grits nor oatmeal are disgusting if you're properly cooking and flavoring them. Like comparing a Tacoma and a Ridgeline...

One of the housing units at work has a certain demographic for some reason, I’ve never seen so many boxes of grits and other weird stuff!

 

I noticed that several pages back and just presumed you did it. Funniest thing so far this morning.

 

You know that saying about catching flies with something besides vinegar? Do you know the moral of that little tid bit? Everyone thinks it's about being nice but it's not. It's about the fact that a fly, who will eat literal SHIT, won't touch vinegar. Conclusion: shit>vinegar

It's a texture thing. Oatmeal is fine in cookies and such, but a bowl of it? It's roughly the same texture going down as an accidentally swallowed chunky loogie... and it's warm. Grits are just the runny version of this.
