Dumb question. I searched but my skillz are lacking.

Does the shift gate area have lights? is it back lit or is that another dark spot like the mirror adjustment button?

 

What is the ‘shift gate area’?

 

No lights on mine! Pretty ez to feel!

Edit: I guess I never paid attention to it much and don't drive at night much, it it lit.

I forgot to mention, on mine there is a gear indicator on the dash. I generally just drive by feel and the tach mostly.

 

The PRNDL letters aren't back lit, but should have a small amber light under the center console lip on top illuminating down towards it and cups.

My 2010 SR5 didn’t have it either. Probably only for higher trims.

 

2012 SR5, WITH sonar warts!.... Doesn't have the little light.

I'm feeling inadequate. Maybe I mod THREE LEDs into my console. Or a whole array under the front of the lid, so I can stroke them as I cruz (insert whatever emoji u like here)

 

My 2008 Limited Crewmax has back-lit shifting letters (see pics). It also has a small amber light on the bottom of the rearview mirror that illuminates the center console. As well, it has a small amber light below the armrest that illuminates the cupholders. Not sure why mine has all three. It has the entertainment package with DVD player, Navigation, and JBL speaker system. Maybe that makes a difference. ‍♂️

 

Mine is backlit just like the pic above. I have the light on the bottom of the mirror too, but not the armrest one that shines on the cup holder.

 

My letters are backlit and the gate area also has a backlit glow

 

Well, I’m a dummy. Turns out my shifter gate is illuminated. Don’t know why I thought it wasn’t. But driving tonight I looked down and it is back lit like the pic above.

 

You and me both apparently overlooked it. Just had to verify my own. Doesn't make us dummies, just proves our eyes go where they should, on the damn road and mirrors. Sorry for misleading!

 

Amazing ... but on the Trim level of little light mines a 07 SR5 CrewMax (with heated mirrors and sun roof ,(no factory prem audio)

 

My 07 SR5 was lit...its dirty now, hut you can still see it faintly..

 

There's a hole in the bottom of my rvm. I'll have to check if it's lit or not in the morning. Now I'm second guessing if my shifter plate is back-lit...

Edit: yes my mirror illuminates the center area and my shifter is illuminated.
