    Hey everyone,

New to the forum and this is my first post. Just sold my 2018 Raptor. Looking at getting into a Tundra. My brother has a 2015 loaded sr5 that he’s had since 2017 with no problems 83k miles now. My gf has a 2015 limited with 155k and problem free as well. I have my eyes on a 2019 sr5, problem is, no power seats or flow through center console.

My question is, how hard is it to take out the center bucket seat and install the flow-through console? Would find a used one of course. Probably wouldn’t transfer/swap the shifter/driveshaft to the center console as i’m sure that is pricey, instead install a phone mount where that would be. Also plan to get at least a power drivers seat at some point later on down the road, as well and maybe skinz.
But my first priority and upgrade would be the console and wanted to see how hard it is to
    accomplish?

    Thanks!

Welcome! You sure you want that base model SR5? The ones with a column shifter and bench seat only come with the smaller 26.4 gallon gas tank. The ones with center consoles come with 38 gallon tanks.

That I did not know. Damnit, I mean I guess it’s not a huge deal, or is it with these trucks? I don’t drive far for work 5-10miles a day and some days I would drive my beater or take my motorcycle. Very rarely go on road-trips but if I do I don’t mind stopping for gas as I drink a lot of water and often pee lol. I drive back home 360miles away every once in a while or to Austin 193miles away but other than that I never filled my Raptor up, just put in 20-40 bucks here and there and putted around in it.
I guess with such a smaller tank I would fill it up every time. It was nice filling my Raptor up and having almost 600miles on a tank. Is there a pro or con to having the 38gal over the 26?

Just distance....I have the smaller 26 tank and it is fine, don't let everyone scare you. I routinely go on trips with 800-1000 miles per day or more, the smaller tank has never been an issue.

My buddy is always on the lookout for gas stations with his small tank.

Depends on what you do with the truck. Friends that go offroad with small tanks all carry extra gas.

I don’t do that, just a daily driver for me and sometimes not even daily driven. I guess if I were to do that I would just simply buy some cool metal gas-cans .

Then you'll be good. Just good to know what you're getting.

Does the base model w bench seat have any other cons or does it lack any other important features?

I know from driving my brothers 2015 loaded sr5 the past 2 days coming from my fully loaded 802a raptor the stereo isn’t as good either, now the stock B&O in the Raptor wasn’t spectacular but it was nice and good enough for me, great quality & sound and good stock base, was only going to add just an 8in sub in the back for added bass and be content with it other than that. For the Tundra I would not only want to add a simple 8in sub but also upgrade to better door speakers and potentially perform sound deadening in the doors myself.

Other than adding the flow through console, better speakers and later on power seats, does it lack anything other than the smaller tank?

    Thanks gents!

Not that I know of. The difference between that base model SR5 and my SR5 are literally the seats and center console - of course the shifter being in the middle.

Thanks! I honestly like the shifter being in the middle, especially coming from the Raptor but i’m sure it could quickly be forgotten after a couple of weeks. Makes for good phone storage haha. Kinda makes it feel like an old school truck too I suppose.

One i’m looking at has 20k miles and has a level/small lift of some sort that I really enjoy the look/stance of and 18in aftermarket wheels and tires. 1 owner. It’s the base SR5. A plus will be the cheaper insurance from the Raptor.

What would you guys pay for it?

Same here exactly it is no deal for me to stop for gas.

Also took about 15 minutes to yank the center seat and then I made my own console

What exactly does “Flow through console” mean?

Flows through the whole area. Instead of just a seat console or just a console on the floor, it’s both, it flows through the cabin and the cupholders towards the front are raised up and level with the console. Just google pictures of “flow through console”

Just looks like the factory console to me?
Which I did not have with the bench middle piece so I easily yanked that and made a console.

It is a factory console it’s just referred to as a “flowing console” or “flow through console”. Have any pics of the one you made?

My 2014 has a 26 gal tank, although I've never put more than 22 gallons in it even bottoming out on E..:eek2:

I wouldn't mind a larger tank, but I agree, it's no big deal..

Welcome to the forum @RubyDaCherry

Does the 2019 have a 60/40 bench seat, or does it have a little seat in the middle?
My 2005 had a 60/40 bench seat in it.

All of the second gen just had buckets and the little center part and they call it a bench but the center is not really part of the buckets at all

I guess it’s not a deal breaker then. It all depends if I can get a good deal. They’re asking $46,700 which I think is way too much for a base model truck. It’s clean 1 owner but definitely shows a little use. It’s right down the road which is also a plus.

    That's a ridiculous price.

Look here for better deal possibilities https://www.tundras.com/forums/tundras-for-sale.100/ , and honestly, go to Autotrader and search without a limit on distance. You will find a better fit for less money even after you buy a plane ticket to go pick it up.

Exactly what I was thinking. It’s been listed for a month. I’m going to bargain with them and point out what it’s missing. I don’t mind traveling at all but it’s close, low miles, clean and already has the perfect level/lift and new
    wheels/tires. Let’s see what happens.
