Hi all , ben kicking around doing a exhaust on my tundy , here is what I'd like to do hopefully it works out ok and get some power out of it , I was going to remove the rearward catalytic converters , run new pipe to a 2 into 1 flow master muffler then 3 inch single pipe from the muffler to the rear in the stock location , will I run into problems like a check engine light or anything else ? Thanks in advance for your help

None of those changes will make anything but noise. If you really like flowmaster sound, simply replace the oe muffler with a flowmaster and keep the stock pipes

Just noise ? I was hoping with the removal of the second bank of cats I was hoping to free up the flow so to speak , and gain some power, at least that's what I was looking to gain

I highly doubt you would feel anything. There are really good write ups on this site about tundra exhaust power. You need to do full headers to get what it sounds like you’re looking for.

buy a dirty deeds system, it does add a little power if you dont want to do full header-back stuff

I wish I could afford a full exhaust, family house and other responsibilities come 1st , dirty deeds is way out of my price range

I've cut my rear cats. No codes thrown. Some say no gains are noticed but those guys haven't done it. I don't know about true dyno numbers but the pedal response is night and day.

I have done exactly what you are talking about doing. I wish someone told me this, but i went thru 3 different make exhaust including my current flowmaster 40 before realizing that the dirty deeds is truly tuned for the tundra. My history with chevy's and flowmaster opinion is out the window with how the flow of air works with the tundras.
Hope this helps. Cuting cats only makes it more breathy not really louder.
If i could do it all over again.... Save money buy the budget 8" with resonator and call it done.
Ive screwed myself out of bolt on because I've cut rear cats and welded straight to muffler bypassing the bolts.

Watch this forum for a group buy from Dirty Deeds. It saves you some money and they still ship the system quickly when the sale ends. I saved up and waited for a deal to come out and put the 10" system on my truck about a year or so ago. I absolutely love the sound/results. The added bonus for going this route is Keith at Dirty Deeds. He calls you back quickly and walked me through a couple of questions I had about the system and the install. Also, there are plenty of install videos already linked to threads here.
