    Hey all,

2021 Tundra DC, 5,500miles with an interior moisture issue.

Truck has been parked for about 4 weeks as it does not get driven in salt. Current temperature is 20F. Let me set the stage... parked next too an Audi and a Nissan, all same timeframe for being parked, same weather. Audi / Nissan have zero interior moisture. Ive owned Audi's my whole life, parked in same spot in winters and never, ever had interior moisture on frigid days.

Went out to do normal weekly startup / battery tender hookup and notice the inside of the windshield was almost completely covered in ice. Not only that but the plastic pieces of the sun visor and sunglass holder / SOS buttons were all crystallised in ice. I have never had this kind of moisture in any vehicles I've owned.

I double checked all windows were 100% rolled up, headliner is not wet anywhere from a visible leak.

Anyone else have this sort of an issue in their Tundra? Is this a Toyota thing? Thinking a seal of something is causing the outside temperature change to create this problem.

No problems here, my truck sits for days at a time with severe temp swings.

Do you have hvac defroster on while you’re doing this weekly startup? How long do you let it run for and what temp is hvac/defroster set at? Could be contributing to the moisture.

Maybe the wife is meeting the mailman in the driveway since there are cameras in the house.

If the inside of the windows is covered in ice, then there was moisture in the air when the vehicle was parked.

The moisture condensates on the windows and freezes. So, how does the moisture get there?

Did you have the climate control on recirculate before you parked it? Any damp towels etc left in the car?

The moisture in the car will be equal to the moisture outside the car unless something is affecting it.

Just the other day I picked my kid up from practice. All sweaty and hot, the passenger side windows fogged up, parked the truck and the next morning, that moisture froze.

There is most likely nothing ‘wrong’ with the vehicle.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
That's way too much moisture for it not to be a leak. Check all the low points on the carpets.

Snow on shoes/clothes before the ride for passenger(s) or driver? Maybe snow on shoes when going to start? Repeatedly?

Thanks guys. Yeah something is up.

@Tundra234 I will check those areas. Hope a third brake light leak isn't present on a brand new truck; eeeeek.

@tundraiggy73 oh yeah I agree. I am a snowboarder and have definitely got in my other cars with wet shoes/jackets and have had windows fog up but the next day never had almost the entire windshield iced over including all the plastic pieces on the roof be frozen ice.

@2mchfun I don't even put my snowy feet in the truck to start it up weekly because I am that OCD since the Weathertechs are freshly coated, lol.

Literally nothing inside the truck, it is the closest to being brand new as possible. Weathertechs don't even have a spec of dirt. Not even a microfiber towel, nor a spec of dirt/snow from shoe. I'll snag photos. My Tundra is treated like most people do with Corvettes hence why this is really alarming.

Have never used the Recirculate button.

When I do the startups; never turn the interior defroster on or anything...except today to melt all the interior ice and then left the door open for a minute to let the hot moisture get out to prevent the moisture re-icing (hopefully.)
